In the future though it would be nice for Q to start Carcillo. Hes not a game breaker but at least he can be rotated up the LW when needed. Many times last night where Carcillo would have actually made a difference along the boards or a dump and chase situation to get past the trap. Hayes is too slow for that shit. Perhaps a different opponent will highlite Hayes stronger points. No biggy Hawks still got the 2 points but I still question the decision of not icing the best players possible. Bollig is not the best option even though he wasn't horrible last night.
Yeah, Bollig shouldn't be an option period. He made a few hockey plays the last game. A couple shots on goal. Every other player on the team does things like that on a game to game basis (yes, even Bolland) and it gets no recognition, nor does it really deserve any because....they're hockey players. It's just expected. With guys like Bollig, they don't happen too often, so it stands out more. That doesn't mean dress him over, apparently, healthy players who CAN play hockey on a game to game basis. It's not that he personally is to fault for anything in most games he plays in, simply because he doesn't do much of anything that amounts of much importance. It's like you pointed out, they lose some of that depth, something that has been a strength for them. Losing that ability to slide a forward up if need be during a game, because of injury or whatever reason Q has when he juggles lines. You can't put Bollig in any role other than "punch-in-face time" guy. Because he got a few shots on goal doesn't change that.
