Well, that was it then. Full credit to the Avs, they played well and the Hawks looked flat. I am guessing this insane pace of games finally took their toll. Still, what an awesome run that I doubt will be challenged anytime soon. Hawks should be proud. Now it's just back on the saddle and start another win streak.

Yeah, Bolland didn't have a good night, not that the team as a whole did. He might be playing himself out of the long-terms plan. All that could of course change if he turns on beast mode in the playoffs.
Anyone relieved that the first regulation loss is out of the way now? I have a feeling that the team might also let a sigh of relief. At least they will stop getting questions about it all the time.

Bolland has had a terrible season. How can you be negative on a team that has a +28 goal differential? He's -4, and his linemates are +8 and +7. Figure that out....
Hawks are having a fucking awesome season, but they still need a center. They pickup a #2 center, or just a center that can win faceoffs at a 55% or so clip, and NOBODY is beating them.

Have you been advocating that Bolland is not expendable?
In any event, even before the latest concussion I have said that he's likely expendable because Stan and Scotty and Norm have seen the checking 3rd line future and it's name is Phillip Danault. Period. I fervently believe this. I don't think many fans understand how blood thirsty this kid is to succeed at ALL levels of hockey and how much he keeps working to improve his game as a motivator or how close he likely is to the big show. It's like he's Cujo---all he does is play hockey, practice hockey, and in his off-time studies Hawks tapes of more hockey that he has the club send him. And it sucks for Bolland but Danault's efforts are palpably visible on the ice.

The Sharpie contract is going to be pretty impossible---the sole reason I never liked it was the NMC. Don't care if they want to keep him forever, don't care about the term and bank but NMCs are a *****! He's never gonna waive that ******---did you see the mini-mansion in the city proper he and his wife bought last year? That's a house you envision your family in long time.
