If its me.. The honeymoon has been over for awhile.

For sure. Jerry and KW are clinging to 2005 like it was yesterday. They don't understand that winning 1 title every 80 years is unacceptable in Chicago, for both sides. I honestly believe Hahn could change everything and build a winner. It's just up to Jerry whether he wants that or not IMO because the fans aren't going to put up with this much longer.

Yeah that's what I'm getting at.. It's time to run for it again.

The more and more ya keep trying to put lipstick on a pig.. The more ya look like Jim Hendry.

Not the path to take.

Yep. It's amazing that the fans can see it, but the organizations in Chicago take forever to understand it.

Yeah that's the issue. Big time..

You would think logical progression would be to go to Hahn..

Looking forward to when you don't win shit with the golden boy, Cub fans will be bitching about him soon enough.

You're team has basically imploded since 2005.

Did some of his chances not work? Peavy as an example.. Sure as of now..

But now.. you've got guys like Buehrle gone.. Idk why the hell they traded Santos.. Dunn as of now has been a total failure (hopefully he rebounds)

Going into this season.. you have guys like De Aza.. Morel (may be decent) Gordon Beckham (continual downturn offensively.. good defensively)

Danks is a decent pitcher.. but he's no way anything near an Ace. Ya don't know how good Peavy is gonna be..

To be honest.. thats a really sketchy roster that he's set up for this season. Some good spots but some really bad glaring spots that are "hopefully he'll produce"

The other part is having a clear direction.

Honestly the worst thing a franchise can do is be mediocre.. (I know this.. I'm a Cubs fan.) You're never fully improving one way or the other. Right now in my mind that's what KW has done.

In a ton of rankings the Sox are near the total bottom of farm system rankings while having decent placed picks the past few seasons. Unless that gets better.. That's on him too.

That is my honest critique of him. Like I've said. I want him gone too for your guys sake.

Peavy- 70% of his contract is paid by a insurance policy that he Padres obtained.

Dunn- blame kenny? really? lets be real on that.

Jon Danks- Let me guess you are looking at wins and losses  Do you know how we got him? oh we traded brandon mccarthy for him and nick massett.

Their direction is not on the farm, and I am one of those fans that could care less about dice rolls on the farm. i just want a handful of trading chips, thats all I care about. It is very rare that a team that is all about the farm, brings up their roster and wins and wins and wins.

Its a dumb argument, and those who are asking for KWs head are clearly looking at things "after the fact" dunn for example, Rios all who fans were thrilled about.

but that's also my point.. if 2005 didn't happen do you guys really think he would still be here?

Does Jim hendry have a job here still if the cubs wouldnt have choked in 2003, 2007, and especially the machine he had in 2008. Pick a year for them to win the ws, I bet if he won just one he would still have a job. But it didnt happen and he isnt the Cubs GM anymore, the sox won the WS under KW and stating if he didnt win in 05 he probably wouldnt have a job is just stupid what if baseball talk.

We will see what mr popularity does with the cubs with a limited payroll, he cant do what he did in boston with the cubs.

For pitchers I don't look at record unless its really good or really bad.

I'm looking at who you lost. Buehrle and then comparing.

Even if you don't do a full rebuild via the farm you should have more success with that as an alternative to spending a shitload of money on free agents..

And Dews with 2003 and Hendry yeah it would be the same type of deal..

Which is unfortunate because even if the Cubs did win in 03... I don't think they would've to this point again.

Yeah, because losing Buehrle is a big fucking loss.

Oh noez, we lost a guy who only pitched well in a six man rotation.

Uh, Burls is a big loss considering who we're trotting out there.

Its the same roster minus Vizuel, Buehrle, Pierre, Santos and Quentin (Frasor if you want to get technical). The only loss that really makes any difference is Quentin, who will be missed.

The way people are talking you'd think the Sox are set up for 120+ losses. I'm not saying, nor advocating they're winning the division. But if Dunn and Rios bounce back the Sox will be in contention.
