Warriors will have a chance but they've also got 3 games with the SPURS towards the very end of the season. Pop may want to rest his guy but I also bet he wouldn't mind stopping the Warriors from getting best record ever.

naaa pop don't care about the reg season...he will rest guys if he feels they need it. the thing you have to remember is it don't mean a thing without the ring....playoffs is where pop will be looking to take em out

Bucks were looking like they were going to get that second win against them for a while in the fourth quarter.

Warriors' "revenge" against them for their celebration was a little underwhelming.

And then the Bucks go to shake their hand and a scuffle break out. Not very classy.

29-1, they have to go 44-8 now to beat the record. Still tough.

They will lose a few against the Spurs at the end of the year but the NBA is so weak right now. I still think Spurs beat them in a Best of 7 in the playoffs so even if Warriors set the mark it will be meaningless if they don't win it all.

Well no sense in making this a long post, we only have three teams that are still eligible. Not sure when this was over last year, but here it is as of this morning:

Golden State Warriors: 33-2
San Antonio Spurs: 31-6
Cleveland Cavaliers: 24-9

Next three games for each:

Golden State: 1/8 @ Portland, 1/9 @ Sacramento, 1/11 vs. Miami
San Antonio: 1/8 vs New York, 1/11 @ Brooklyn, 1/12 @ Detroit
Cleveland: 1/8 @ Minnesota, 1/10 @ Philadelphia, 1/12 @ Dallas

My opinion of possible losses in bold

The Warriors are halfway to 72 wins at 36-2. They still have the best start in NBA history to date. They are approaching the Bulls record of 41-3 in the 95-96 season. And they still have a loss to give up to match that.

Warriors are 36-3. Spurs are 34-6 (2.5 games back).

Warriors are on pace to be 72-6 with four games left. Spurs on pace to be 68-12 with two games left.

Combined current record of 70-10.

Not bad.

I really, really doubt either of those teams win 70.

GSW schedule includes:

SAx3
OKCx3
DALx3
MEMx2
ATLx2
Cleveland
Clippers
Chicago
Miami
Houston
Indiana

If they go 10-9 in those games (definitely doable), they would still need to go 22-0 against everybody else. So if they go 20-2 against those teams, they would need to have a 12-7 record against the upper echelon teams (to go 70-12).

SAS schedule includes:

GSx3
CLEx2
OKCx3
LACx2
HOUx2
DALx2
MEMx2
Chicago
Miami
Toronto
Indiana

They would need to go 14-6 in those games and go undefeated against every other team (to go 70-12).

Warriors slipping a bit. Shouldn't have lost to Denver. Their next 6 games are against:

@ Detroit
@ Cleveland
@ Chicago
Indiana
San Antonio
Dallas

They will lose 2 of these, possibly 3.

For the remainder of their season, they still have: 3 games against OKC, 3 games against SAS (2 away). They will also have the occasional stumble against an inferior opponent like they did last night against Denver.

They may hit 70, they won't break the Bulls record.
