last time i just strolled up to wacker/michigan about 8:30 and was right on the corner by the candy store. filled up pretty quickly after that...i gotta imagine this year will have even more people. they aren't kidding when they say bring water. my wife and i burned through several while waiting and i almost passed out right before the buses got there. biggest clusterfuck of my life, once you get stuck in that crowd, theres no getting out. i'd go back this year but can't get outta work. damn responsibilities.

Thats what ended up happening in 2010. Unless you had access into an office building, there was no chance at heading for a urinal... and if you got out of the crowd to find one, fat chance getting back in.

Heard tonight players leaving UC at 930 am and winding their way to Grant Park and hoping to start rally at 11am

That is about the time I will be there. Personally, I have no desire to be in the Sea of Flesh. I did that in 2010 and while I am glad I did, I sure dont need to again. "They" are not encouraging people to go to the UC either but that wont stop folks.

Last time they were letting people camp out but I highly doubt that will happen this time around.

I'm tempted to just watch it from my desk but I want to be down in it like last time. It was just something to behold. Annoying as shit as I hate people, but wouldn't miss it.

I wanted to go, but at the same time, listening to a bunch of idiots rambling about them and realizing how stupid they look and are acting makes me think twice. Along with rubbing elbows with sweat and the smell sweat on a jersey ......naaaa.

The parade isn't about other people. That's like not going to see your kids soccer game because of an annoying soccer mom. You go because it's the fucking cup man. And if you can go, you go, everything else is just whitenoise.

Craziness to ensue but how many times in one's lifetime do you get another chance to kick the cat?

I still have no plan yet as to what I'm going to do... I may just go straight to the park, but the street was pretty fun last time. I hate to go solo, so I'm hopefully going to find some of my friends around the route.

Agreed with the other posters.

I used to say I loved going to the UC because I got to be completely alone with 22,000 other people. Let the ignorant discuss with the ignorant. I learned a long time ago, when it comes to hobbies of choice, never listen to the opinions or ramblings of those without a proven "record".

For example a conversation at work:

"The Blackhawks this year have one of the best teams of all time!" -- Bandwagon Co-Worker

"Best of all time? This Hawks team wouldnt even make the top 30 of all time, maybe not top 50. " -- The Count

"You dont know what you are talking about, look at how close they were to breaking records for winning."

"So late 70's Canadiens, 90's Red Wings, 90's Avalanche, Great One Oilers, these arent better?"

"Yeah, those were pretty good teams..."

"Whose squad was your favorite? As a hockey fan, I would have to go with the 96 Red Wings. I was a HUGE fan of the Grind Line. And Vernon... what a netminder, huh? But the 01 Wings were so good they had Datsyuk as a 3rd liner! Crazy, right?"

"Yeah, they were good."

"Yes, co-worker, yes they were."

Dont concern yourself with others. Remember, it is always about YOU and YOUR fun.
