They only shut us out 2 out of 4 games. No sweat.

i thunk quick has shut out every team 2 out of 4 times this season. That guys been Amazing.

Some like to think there us parity when it comes to nhl goalkeeping. Thats a load of bs in my books still and guys luke quick prove its bs.

As for the preds. We havent really had rhe luxery of facing them with our top players in tact. Still do not want the hawks facing them esp first round. No way jose. Agree wangs are toast if they meet first round. Ill take it further and say the preds beat any westetn team first round including the hawks..including the blues...anyone.

I already talked over the plan with Joel: start from 6th seed, knock out Dallas and the Wings knock off Nashville and we duke it out with them for the Nuckleheads. He seemed okay with that.

why does everyone assume that Dallas is going to be the third seed?? Phoenix, LA, Dallas, San Jose are all what, one point from each other?

I'll take that bet......................

Really? You don't think Stalberg will be a 30-30 guy in a couple years. You do know hes 21-21 guy as of right now right? In his real full first NHL season. You don't think in his 4th or 5th year he won't be able to add 10 goals and 10 assists to his average?

Can't believe anyone would still play down Stalberg skills and abilities. You keep selling him short Maiden just like everyone else did early in the season.

I think if he plays a full season on this line, fucking right he can do 30-30 next season. Him and Sharp have amazing chemistry out there together.

There are always exceptions, always. Again, this is a topic where the NHL in it's entirety, from GMs to coaches and players all the way to fans, always leaves me confused as how it can thought of the way it is especially by those people closest to the game, all who have watched it or played it for most of their lives, all more than I have. I never said those players didn't exist, that would be stupid, just that overall the talent is much more leveled out throughout the league than it's ever been in the past. It's much easier to find a "average" goalie now with the butterfly technique(s) being widely accepted and in use and in practice for decades now. There will always be several where you can say, yeah, they are above the pack. Or below the pack like in what we saw with Huet a few years ago. Those players don't cease to exist just because parity is higher. They will always exist.

For me, it takes more than one season of being great to be considered in that elusive group though. Lundqvist is one, so is Vokoun. Rinne with this season looks to have become one (though still not worth that price tag- no goalie is). If Lehtonen can stay healthy I can see him maybe being one in the future. Thomas is sort of a weird anomaly. I don't even really want to bring up He Who Shall not be Named in this discussion because of the knee-jerk blinding emotional reactions it would get, but him as well throughout a lot of his career. There's like maybe 4 out of around 50 goalies that play regularly as starter or back up in the NHL. Elliot and Halak are putting up crazy numbers, but look at the shots they're facing. Been hovering around 6 below the average on a great defensive team. They're putting up the kind of numbers Brodeur should have his entire career if he were half as great as people make him out to be.

If it's seen as difficult and as the toughest position in all sports as NHL fans in general proclaim it to be- to become a great goalie (a statement I more or less agree with)- with a lot of things being unfair and out of your control and a lot of which is simply the result of the team in front of you, again, something those people seemingly understand to one degree or another, I don't know why a lot of those same people cast as harsh a judgement they do on goalies and hold the few that do make it to the Cup with their team and win it with their team (something that is also seen as the "toughest team sports trophy to win" by these people) up as protectors of the Holy Grail or something when an even fewer amount of goalies that advance to that position are deserving of it.

Just one of the many things that is just completely bizarro world to me in when it comes to seriously analyzing players in the NHL, or analyzing the NHL in general, and what passes for it more often than not: Stupid cliches that should've died decades ago. "He never wonna Cup! Gotta winna Cup! Tell me when he gits a ring!"

Yah that chemistry has been outstanding lately. Even Kruger has become better. When Toews comes back I don't really want that line messed with. The question will arise though what does Q do with Hossa? Are we going to see a Kane playing lw with Toews and Hossa or are we going to see Sharp playing center with Stalberg to his left and Hossa to his right? I don't think you can break up stalberg and sharp for the playoffs. and i def dont want to see kane on the left wing. Should be interesting.

Hossa-Toews-Kane

Brunette was always expendable on that line.
