For a draft class like this, and I've heard nothing really good about it so far, I'd go for it.

But on the economic side of things, the demands are a bit insane, however.

Roy would be a good second line center for us. He is worth the 1st rounder, but not much more. He may be their captain and top center but he is not a top center on most other teams.

I would say the team has 3 big holes myself and have all season and going into the season

legit depth lw

Second line center

a legit number 4 blueliner

None which will be available today at a reasonable cost and stan doesn't have the balls to go big....he will just go home. I too don't think one big splash would fix all the hawks problems but at the same time it probably wouldn't hurt to get a new face on this club who is a legit nhl player who isn't over the hills.

Nothing going to be fixed until q is gone anyways by the looks of things.

If Q pulled his head out of his ass Bolland is fine as the 2nd line C, Kruger moves to 3rd and Mayers is 4th, or swap Kruger and Mayers. Jamal has played well enough to deserve some 3rd line time.

Exactly. He might be a 2 on this team and a 1 on Buffalo. But on a team like Washington or LA, he'd be centering the 3rd line.

Bolland is not a second line center IMO. He's great at being a pest to the other teams top line, and he needs to stick to doing that.

Also, this years draft class has maybe 1 or 2 legit top end prospects, then it falls off a bit but its VERY DEEP.

No one player will be able to come in and turn this team around without giving up something of the future. Unless we trade for someone who will be here for a few years and not be a "rental" player, we might as well keep getting creamed and hope for the team to turn around on their own.

He didn't address the problems in the offseason, so here he is stuck paying the price or a good chance of missing the playoffs.

At this point I would rather miss the playoffs then give up the future.

Not one player will fix this team.

He has the talent for it. I think he deserves a chance. He can be magic when he's put with good wingers.

Oh, I assure you, the upcoming Draft class is nothing to really write home about. In fact, the talent pool drops significantly after the first four, and two of them are Russians.

Yeah, it sucks that bad.

Well your's is the first time I have heard any reference to this Draft being weak. Yeah, there were always only a few stud Forwards projected in even the Top 10 but after that I've only ever read that basically 1-36 is overall pretty solid in terms of NHL projection with a heavy slant towards D (not like the 2008 D class though). Did something happen with the mid-term rankings for N.A. and Europe in January that changed this?

Bolland I don't think is that talented. Ladd made him look good all those years. He's a great shutdown centerman and that's where he should stay.

We will have to agree to disagree as gentlemen.
