Well look, I'd love to get Noah and Anthony, love to, because he's a very solid player, but Carmelo Anthony is better, and if we have to part with Noah to get him, so be it.

it's all about winning, and noah looks like he's going to be overpaid in the new cba. If we stick with noah, this is going to be our team for the next 5 years. no real improvements will happen beyond mle.

you can a defensive center with an mle, but you wont get a melo with an mle.

Okay, people. Here are some unrestricted free-agents next year. I don't think the Bulls should be worried about Melo right now. There are a few pieces out there that could really help the Bulls become title contenders.

*yao ming
*? tim duncan
tony parker
grant hill
jamario moon
*tyson chandler
*sam dalembert
carl landry
joel pryzbilla
*jason richardson
*redd
zach randolph
stojakovic
david west
pietrus
jr smith
*nene
*shane battier
kenyon martin
troy murphy
carmelo anthony

The Bulls need to do EVERYTHING they can to keep/re-sign Noah now and save enough money to somehow be able to a free-agent or 2 or 3.

It's probably time to TRADE Luol Deng (Hinrich-to-WAS style), if DEN won't do Taj, JJ, Deng for Melo.

I would take Team B, I like Noah and would hate to see him go but we finally have a chance to get a LEGIT STAR, I think the Bulls should jump at the opportunaty!!!

Team C wouldn't be bad either:

PG: Rose, Watson
SG: Brewer, Bogans
SF: Melo, Korver, Johnson
PF: Boozer, Gibson
C: Erick Dampier, Thomas, Asik

I think a lot of us are overrated Noah in this situation, yes I would HATE to see him go but we are getting a young STAR in the PRIME of his career, lets be realistic here... it is not a GM in the NBA that would take Noah over Melo

if we are keeping him then that is GREAT NEWS as well

well how about Deng, Johnson, Gibson for Melo, if I was Denver I sure wouldn't do it but hey it is better then getting NOTHING for him, not like the Knicks can come up with a better deal

Yeah, & you won't be happy if he gets way overpaid.

I wont be paying him :) He wouldn't be the first guy, and he wont be the last(this goes for all teams in all sports). Anyways, he might get overpaid, but I doubt he'll be "way" overpaid.

They really couldn't get rid of Deng this offseason, hoping they could do it next year coming around isn't gonna be likely.

They are setting themselves up for what, constant mid tier success unless they make something dynamic happen.

Yeah, like, oh I don't know, trading Joakim Noah and Luol Deng for Carmelo Anthony. You people realize that's what you're saying, right? That all else being equal, you don't want Joakim Noah shipped off for Carmelo Anthony. You do realize that's the implication, correct?

Yeeess, I was referring to Rami relishing in the fact it's a good thing we are hanging onto Deng part 2 along with the actual Luol Deng.

Although I'm not sure I'd be gun ho if they were demanding Taj in the mix.. if they would take a pick or just JJ instead It should be a done deal.

That's not going to be able to happen. As it stands right now, the Bulls will be at $52 million after 2011-12, and after that season Joakim Noah and Kurt Thomas will combine for a $10 million cap hold, taking them way over any realistic cap increase, making it impossible for them to go after free agents. Even if Noah accepts the QO immediately, the Bulls will be put right up against the cap (if not over it), again nullifying any chances to go after FA's.

If they're going to make a move for Anthony (or any other "superstar" for that matter), they need to do it via a trade that sends Deng packing. If the Nuggets want Noah, that needs to happen, because their hands are tied for the foreseeable future after this window closes.

Exactly, that situation a few years ago with morons crying out against the proposed Deng-Kobe deal is a perfect analogue.

Though I'm not big on the "well, if they'd be willing to accept this instead of that" game. Right now, let's just assume that the Nuggets are willing to take on Deng's contract in exchange for Melo, but they want Noah thrown in. You. Do. That. And obviously, Carmelo would have to sign an extension either before the trade or immediately after, that's a given.

The last two posts pretty much sum up what every Bulls fan SHOULD be thinking.

I'm thinking in pretty simple terms right now, I admit. The Bulls need to retain some depth. They should get rid of Deng and absorb cap-space. Then test their luck, again, next summer.

Everybody "should" have their own mind-set, and not simply be sheep for Melo.

Sorry.

Don't be shocked if the Nuggets get desperate mid-way through the season, and ship Melo off to Chicago, or somewhere else, for peanuts.
