Wasn't there a game last year against Wankouver where not only did a linesman botch an obvious offsides but also Luongo took a page out of Mary-Kate and Ashley Sedin's book and enter a tranq-induced collapse much like a bear in Downtown Vancouver when Brouwer skated 6" from him?

The real Mary-Kate and Ashley find this post to be offensive.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
If I offended them, then they needed to be offended.

i saw the seabrook puck gloving in the crease at work. I instantly said "phew, dodged a bullet there."

then when we got a PS for Holmstrom's puck cover i thought maybe because al Seabs did was push it to crawford's pad was why we didn't get called for it; at least maybe a PP for Detroit just because a non-goalie gloved the puck (freezing or not) inside the blue paint?

In the post game about 4 or 5 games ago (Edmonton?) Q called out the officials for an obvious no call goalie interference on Crawford and other missed calls. Since that game the officiating has sucked more than usual!!

I"ve never been one for conspiracy theories but are the refs giving some payback to Q for his criticism ?

The Philly game is a prime example. Only penalty called on Philly was DoG. Philly goes on power play final 2 min of the game.

Tom Lysiak agrees with this post.

And correct me if I am wrong here but i thought when a defensive player put his hands on the puck in the crease while the puck is clearly going into the net it's not a penalty shot..it's an automatic goal. Thought I have seen that call before. I may be smoking something though.

It's a penalty shot unless the goalie has been pulled. In that case, the ref can award a goal.

As for the non-calls.

The Filpula cross check- no wing touched the puck after the check, so no call.

Finally that trip seabrook had, it looks really bad when looking at a single view down the length of the ice. But the other replay angle, with it zoomed it on lidstrom taking a shot I can't see any contact by holmstrom and it look's like he's a good 6 feet ahead of holmstrom. Did you ever wonder why during the 3rd period Eddy O switched from saying Seabrook was tripped to saying he was going all out to block the shot/playing fearlessly?

So a ref had his arm up for a penalty, but couldn't call one since no Wing touched it before it entered the net?

Guess I missed that one.

Did you ever wonder why Seabrook slashed Holmstrom, then cross-checked him, then yelled at the refs after the play stopped?

Guess he just felt like it.

After 5 minutes, actually. Refbergs didn't help none, though.

refs refs refs

Hawks played like trash after the 1st....

This.

And this.

Gah. All this fucking whinging about the officiating on the interwebs is making my eyes bleed. The Hawks had their chances and they blew it. Their clown shoes PP went 1-4 and they had a PS which they also didn't convert on. If they had been successfull on one of those golden opportunity's obviously it's most likely a win OR if they knew how to ever fucking clear opponents from in front of the net OR if one of the stars (obviously Sharp notwithstanding) had come through in the clutch---Datsyuk did show up just when the Wings needed someone to and was clutch.
