So was I the only one that noticed a lot of left wing lock happening by the guys in white?

Look what happens when you play fundamental hockey. Oh, and the difference in the PP was EXTREMELY noticeable. Different lines from the last game too? Put Barry Smith on the coaching staff permanently, please. Kane and Hossa played like the elite players they are. That always helps.

With that in mind, I am very happy to say that the offense looked like its old self again, and not just on the Power Play. They were playing aggressive hockey, my favorite kind. The lock was also getting noticed, and I don't think Ottawa was expecting it, but oh did Lehner save that game from making it worse than it could have been.

Its been only one game since this change occurred, but its one the Hawks needed. It was very noticeable and in a positive light as well.

I'm glad the old Hawks offense is coming back.

Imagine if you had a healthy Toews with Sharp, although Sharp had his chances.

First PP I didn't notice much difference. I guess both goals were really PP goals though as the first was a delayed penalty.

Not on the PP and I'm pretty sure the even strength lines were not changed.

Would it look bad for the organization to pull the pull on Kitch and not wait to the end of the season? But I agree I think if they continue on improving on the pp. You do it ASAP. I think the coaching staff next season will be. Q, Havvy, and Smith. I love that look. But depends if Havvy gets offered another coaching gig.

Kitchen was in charge of the first PP....when Sharp had a defenceman with a broken stick, but decided to bring the puck up high to the forward, and lost the puck.

Smith was in charge of the one Hossa scored on. And was in charge when they pulled the goalie for the extra attacker on Bickell's goal.

Smith - 2 Kitchen - 0

Out hit 30-18

FO% 39%-61%

SOG 39-26

And probably the best quotes so far were Maclean in his presser...

"I thought we chased the Blackhawks around pretty well for 30 minutes at least".

"For a little while I thought Kane and Hossa had their own puck on the ice and wouldn't even let us play with it for a little while"

This team can beat anyone if they play with heart and desire. Please CONTINUE tonight!

Hell yeah to the bolded!

And special props to Shaw. Played a solid game on the entire ice.

Great quick, sharp passes by the whole team most of the game too.

Ok Modern Time. Orr never would have been Orr in todays NHL.

Orr holds the single season record for +/- with +125 I believe.

I think he would be (more than) fine in any era.
