And just so I'm clear, you are saying the last four games he's been on the 4th line? Because that's not where I've seen him. And that's not where he starts the game, so he's not bad because he's been on the fourth line, even though he starts on the first. The fact that he's on the fourth line should also be an indication of how bad he's playing.
And now all of a sudden there are shit goals but not shit assists, and none of Stalbergs goals were shit? The fact is that at least the last two assists from stalberg were shit. The beautiful feed from Toews to Kane in the Pheonix game was just him making a horrible clearing attempt trying to get the puck out of the zone. Toews happened to chase it down. This one, he was just in the way of the puck and Toews came in and took it away. Both of those assists don't happen without him being on the ice with Kane and Toews. When he had the precious 10 points in 12 games I said I was happy for him but that "He did this same exact thing last year". He had a good stretch early in the season and then vanished again. He has no consistency and that's all I asked for. The fact that he was pulled off the top line last night for Frolik who as we all know is a worthless player, should tell you how well he's been playing.
Sure he started the games on the 1st line but Q pulled him off there in favor of Carcillo for the most part due to his obsession with match-ups... as soon as he saw the opposing team messing with TK he put Carcillo there.
Last game Stalberg/Toews/Kane was used for 34% of the game even-strength -- by far the most of any line by almost 10%
Frolik/Toews/Kane never saw the ice together. Not even by mistake. The closest Frolik was to the top line was Carcillo/Toews/Frolik... if you even want to call that a top line, it was for a whole 0.52% of the game.
He wasn't in way of the puck, he drew two defenders clear as day and Toews picked it up and walked right in, it was a cycle play. Sure it wasn't a beautiful pass but its a perfect example of how his speed creates space for the big guns to work. Even if he didn't get the assist there he was a big factor just for drawing two defenders to open space. It's not a matter of a pretty pass.
Frolik's goal, he drove to the net which is nice to see... Kruger's pass was right on the tape and it went in. Frolik was even surprised he scored lol. I think there are bigger problems on this team than Stalberg. Frolik is one of them, Bolland another, Bickell.... that "magical" line everyone thought was going to be amazing this season has no chemistry at all and really almost like our 4th line instead of our 3rd.
