BLACKHAWKS THREE STARS OF THE GAME

1. Bryan Bickell

2. Corey Crawford

3. Brent Seabrook

3A. Brandon Bollig

Potted his first NHL goal and then stepped up to the 3rd line and did a great job - after Shaw was ejected - and almost potted another one.

TCD, no one is saying that Shaw shouldn't have gotten a penalty. They are just saying the major and misconduct is BS. And there is reason to call out the officiating when they have caused 3 goals against. The Hawks showed great character in almost pulling out with a victory in the first game and doing so in last nights game. They showed that adversity won't phase them. Unlike the Canucks and their fans.

Interesting perspective from Shaw himself:

"It sucks when that kind of stuff happens, but I'm just glad that he was OK," Shaw said. "He went to play the puck and his stick came up towards my face. I tried to get out of the way of it and unfortunately made a little contact."

Didn't notice that til I saw the video of it.... Interesting... The bold is also key. We all thought this and so did he. I didn't know that the stick came up towards Shaw's face, though, so that's definitely something worthwhile as a defense to look at.

For those who didn't see the hit, though I think we all did...

The refs were not out to get the Hawks. When you go down that road you start sounding like a Canuck fan. I refuse to go down that road then turn around and start calling Canuck fans out for yapping about officials. Hawks had enough of pp time and a few penalties they got away with. So did the Yotes. I don't buy into the idea that because the Yotes are nhl owned that the league is going out of their way to favor them...not while watching the same shit going down in nearly every other series.

The crap calls absolutely do happen in all series and during the season, but I watch a lot of games where I don't care about who wins and I see "preferred teams"...generally ones Buttman wants to succeed in southern or small markets.

We overcame a lot and I am very happy for the boys for holding their cool...I was ready to run smith for real.

For such a slow skater, it was wonderful to see him go offside, twice, with Hossa and Kane bringing the puck in. Incredible.

Saad is available as of last night...would sure prefer him in there...hell I think I would prefer Morrison to Bruno at this point.

Grin.

I think the time is way past due for video review of embellishment with suspension guidelines for that...the acting is crap. It is NOT harmless gamesmanship...it is like crying wolf and we know how that turns out. And it's just embarrassing to our game and the officials.

From ESPN: "Obviously that's contact to the head," Tippett said. "Doesn't matter if it's a goaltender or a player. That's blindside contact to the head. I'm sure the league will look at it."

I've watched this replay several times now. In part I agree with Tippet here, it was contact to the head. HOWEVER.....Shaw turns his head to avoid taking a stick or a puck to his face, and in so doing makes no intentional move towards Smith to "take him out." As a matter of fact, coming around the boards, Shaw keeps his hands on his stick and keeps his stick on the ice...so where that meets the criteria for a major, someone please explain it to me. The act by Smith after the hit was priceless, and I agree, the NHL really needs to start doling out penalties for the embellishment/diving a bit more.

Here is a question, that maybe you goalies out there can answer....isn't it a penalty if your fight strap isn't attached??? Why the hell isn't Smith's? is there no where to attach it on goalie's sliders??

Nice win. Overcame bad officials. Good goaltending, timely goal scoring, clutch plays as time expired and in OT. Shaw deserved 2 for GTI, Smith deserves an Oscar.

Hearing is not until tomorrow. NHL is reviewing all game misconducts apparently. If anything further than the bullshit game they already screwed him out of, IE last night, they are truely a fucking fraud.

The Weber 2500$ now sets even another fucked precedent. DOPS is a complete fucking Joke and Shanahan is a fucking pawn.

It should be.

It can be attached on our breezers, just like any other players'.

I don't think it's a penalty unless the player is involved in an altercation.

Maybe for charging, but not for GTI. If a goalie goes out, plays the puck and gets hit, GTI in no longer valid in my eyes.

More telling is that no PHX player immediately went after Shaw.
