Liked Frolik, though 2.3 million for a guy to sit and play the PK on your 4th line is a bit much.

Still think he's going to become a solid top 6 skater, just wasn't going to get that chance on the Hawks.

Even this season. THIS season.

Bolland was the second line center. THIS season.

Frolik was a fourth liner. THIS season.

Biggest reason Bolland's minutes were down in the playoffs was more his health than anything He wasn't 100% THIS season in the playoffs

He hasn't been 100% for 18 months. That is the #1 reason he was dealt. The financial aspect of the move helps also.

But if he was healthy and putting up true 2nd line center numbers he would still be here.

Frolik as a Top 6 forward on the Jets? That's possible, but I don't know.

Best of luck to him, but nah... He'll be on the PK

At least it gives Morin a shot.

I like how the guy who argued all season that Bolland should never be a second line center and should've been a 4th line center on this team backs up his argument now that he was a second line center and that comparing him to Frolik who plays the 4th is crazy. Funny how things like that work out.

what the **** does Bolland have to do with any of this!!!!!!

Jesus christ.

Everyone and their dogs knew Bolland was going to be delt because 1) he took a step backwards with his back and 2) the Hawks needed to clear cap space.

Everyone and their dog also know that Frolik was probably going to have to go also or was a serious option.

Its not a contest of who would have been better off kept because both are fucking gone. The entire Bolland vs Frolik argument is moot and really a waste of time.

Yep...I wasnt the biggest fan

But he's better/more valuable than Frolik

Because I don't like a player doesn't mean I don't know someone's value. I've watched hockey for more than a few years, and know a thing or two about other things than visors

He's a solid 3rd line center. Not a 2nd - as a lot of people for years wanted him to be...and he's better than a 4th line center

If you are all set to pay 2.4 million to a 4th liner than you have problems.

Great PKer but another guy that never lived up to his talent, couldn't finish. I figured he was going.

It's really not that big a deal to me. It's just people blow things out of proportion. I was hoping Bickell would take less so as to not have to lose Frolik as well, he didn't so they did what they had to do. Just would have preferred to keep that PK unit intact for one more season. Blasphemy, I know.

In the big picture of who the Hawks have on the farm there is a player who can do the things Frolik provides for half the salary cap hit.

It's not a reflection of Frolik's ability. He just isn't going to get enough minutes per game with this roster to become a 1st or 2nd line player and put up big numbers.

And that's why this is a great move by Stan to get 3 draft picks for him.

He was relegated to 4th line Center upon his return from yet another injury. Scored the SC game winning goal on the 4th line.

I would like to give Pirri a shot at that 2nd line Center. I think he's earned it.

He most certainly did when he first arrived. They did all they could to make him that 2nd line Center. They then moved him to 2nd line Wing. It just isn't his game. He found his nitch, unfortunately his pay did not fit his role.

He and Kruger were just fucking awesome on the best PK in the league all year long.

And his penalty shot against Howard, just fucking nasty!

How long of a shot did he "actually" get? In Q's world you can be the 2nd line center in the first period and the 4th line right winger by the second. On this team he was never destined to be a top 6 forward. Good move to shed salary and get picks.

I give both Dale and Stan credit that they have never sold the farm to get a rent a player to try and win the cup (aka Penquins).

They both built this squad around top line core players and competition for jobs at the other positions.
