Crow showing major mental toughness with bouncing back from that (those) OT goals and outplaying Smith (Again)

Anyone you would prefer to have the puck on his stick in OT other than Toews? I think not.

Again?

If it wasn't for Smith....the Hawks would be 5-0 in the series

"Real" 3 stars -

1.Toews

2. Leddy (was awesome, again)

3. Seabrook

b. Bolland (finally went to the net/bumped Smith on Leddy's goal)

c. Bickell (very good series)

Everytime I looked up last night, Stalberg was in the box.

Then he got an assist on the OT winner.... sins, absolved!!!

Frolik in this series has looked as good as he has in his whole Blackhawks career.

Yes, again. The Hawks are making Smith look good, not the other way around. It's not hard to make 40 stops when 35 of them hit you.

Are you sure? Have you seen some of the goals Crawford has let in? He's made it look hard

Have you seen some of the goals Smith has let in? Crawford has let in two softies, Smith has easily let in more.

And I've also seen much more pressure on Smith...about 50 more shots on net and about 100 more attempts that were blocked by defence (meaning much more stress/pressure in his zone)

I don't think Crawford has played bad (aside from those 2 pathetic OT goals a peewee may have stopped), but to say he's "outplaying" Smith - who is the only reason his team is up in the series with a .941%...really? Bickell's OT goal and Toews' were tough shots.

In 5 OT games...only allowing 27 shots a game..and less than 20 the last 2

If Crawford's save percentage was at .941...that would put him allowing only 8g in the 5 games (instead of 13) - which would probably be outplaying him.

Again....he's not playing Brzgalov/Fleury -esque....but Smith's been the best goaltender in this series

Shots =/= scoring chances.

count how many odd man rushes & break aways Phoenix gives us.

then count how many we give them.

Scoring chances yesterday were 18-9 in favor of Chicago

Do the breakaways count if they don't even get a shot off (Doan...twice) or Leddy's doesn't allow a shot and they still score (Boedker)?

do scoring chances count when we fan on a rebound or shoot the puck over the net?

or do they count when Toews scores from almost behind the net.

Will Smith be this years Tim Thomas? I have been thinking some of our fabulous weapons will erupt and shatter his confidence, tomorrow night would be a great time for that to happen.

No...scoring chances are actual shots on net - where the Hawks are nearly 2-1 in the series and are averaging about 13 more shots a game

Hawks have had double digit - shots on goal - in all but 1 period (9 sog in period 3 of game 4)

Game 1..Phx only had 8 in first and third (not a bad total/decent pressure)

Game 2..Phx only 5 in the third

Game 3..Phx only 6 in the second

Game 4..Phx had 5 each of the first and second...8 in the third

Game 5..Phx had 4 in each of the first and third

So 5 out of 15 periods, the Hawks allowed less than 6 shots on net. But...they're all prime scoring chances and it's just as equal of 14 periods of 10+ shots, since the Hawks just aim for the chest.

Conn Smythe for Crawford if the Hawks can advance and it's amazing he's not up for the Vezina with all the pressure he faces

How many of those saves were real tough for Smith? He's a product of his defense, not the other way around. Yotes are too tight for the Hawks to get some real quality shots through.

Crawford has kept the Hawks in every game making timely save after timely save, no doubt.

I think it's hard to compare both goaltenders as both play behind two completely different teams. Either way, I think both have done an excellent job keeping their team in the game, hence 5 straight OT's.

yeah, you're right. Lets give up on him, he's garbage.

Not like we've ever given up on a young goalie ever

Never once said to give up on him.

Said he isn't/hasn't "outplayed" Smith in the series
