We won, and broke the 5-game skid. Gotta keep the wins coming.

I seemed like 5 even though it was only a 3-game skid.

We won last night because Toronto was just worse than us. I saw unforced passes in the center zone last night for both teams missing their target by 8-10 feet. I saw 2 teams running around like neither was running any sort of system and bad goaltending by 2 of the 3 that played. I kept flipping to the Pens Stars game during commercials and it made ours look like a high school game.

Kaner was flying, but I've been saying all through his swoon I think he has been playing through a leg injury (just from watching him try to skate)...he is out of it, some other guys played all right at times, but it still won't come close to cutting it in the next 3 games.

Regarding the discussion of the first goal, (besides what's already been said) that play is exactly what I mean when I gripe about Craw not being square. Going back to a bad goal he gave to Phoenix in our first home meeting with them, he has been doing this consistently. He gets his shoulders parallel to the goal line, then leans away from the shooter and OFFERS the short side, top 3 feet of the net to the guy. And WTF was Seabrook doing on that play???

We are just not playing like a team.

Well I'll disagree. First goal he should have had. 2nd one no chance, and 3rd I thought he could have got. Meanwhile Emery made some very good saves to keep them in the game until they got some goals.

I think Q pulled Crawford because, he looked lost and probably to send a message as well. Either way good move by Q.

Remember our discussions in the days of old when I shared my concerns about his mental state in games? For some reason it rarely appeared last season but this season we certainly are aware of it. He was like this in Rockford for many a game where it looked like he just turned the switch off between the pipes. I got razed for those comments, some even by you but time proves many things.

Part of me wonders what the difference is between last season and this season and what would make him respond the way he has. We all know it is mental and has everything to do with confidence and desire. Why the change? The bigger question is that it has appeared with many on the team, not just Corey. I have a gut feeling that it has everything to do with the locker room, those in control and even the personalities that have been brought on board this season. In relation to Corey we were all told how much of a positive influence Turco was to him last season.

Turco helped. We have no vet to help him this season.

Leafs May suck but lupul was all over the place last night. He and kesel have amazing chemistry. We will see if that lasts for a few seasons or if its a lucky season for those two.
