Maybe he hasn't watched him play any games this year for the Hogs, but he's certainly seen him play before. Sometimes quotes can be read out of context.

I don't hate him, nothing is going to kill me, and I'm not exploding at anything. I just think he's a clown, just like the rest of the guys running this team. I don't give a **** what other coaches do because I'm not a fan of their team. My expectations aren't too high at all. It isn't too much to ask for the head coach of the Blackhawks to have watched an IceHog game or two to see how guys that will eventually be playing for him are doing. If you think it is, I'm not sure what to tell you. It would probably be as easy as asking their video guy for a video of a few games. How can you coach a guy when you "haven't seen him play"? It's no fucking wonder the slot allocation on this team sucks so much.

At this point how the Hawks do this season does not interest me in the least TCD. It's pretty obvious to me this team is not "all in" trying to win a cup, and with Toews not playing, I have little reason to watch them embarrass themselves night in and night out.

LOL but you will watch Pez. Just like I will. We say we won't watch but you know as well as I do that we can't turn away from this mess. It's the fun of watching a pendulum swing and its hypnotic. I want Q gone too Pez. But I think it's for different reasons than you with a little of your reasons mixed in. I just want to see some stability btw head office and the coaching staff. I haven't seen it since the cup win and the 2 years before that. I think all issues of coaching will and can be resolved with a better working relationship btw all the parties involved with the Hawks. It's just not happening with this structure in place. Fire Q let Stan/Scotty/McDick/Rocky (who ever is running the show) bring in their guy and end this nonsense. At that point anything negative on the ice Stan can then be more accountable for..and he will have to be and have to grab a pair of balls. It's time to really test this GM..he won't have Q to kick around anymore lol.

We are on the same page Pez. It's just a different paragraph we are reading.

Haha. I'm slowly weening myself away from the Hawks. I just don't feel like being frustrated, and they haven't been fun to watch in a long time now. I've actually watched more of other teams play in the last month than I have the Hawks. I still have the games on, but I'm just half ass paying attention at this point, and amusing myself with other things. It's amazing how unexciting the Blackhawks are when you watch a lot of other teams play. It's not even the lack of scoring either. It's just the lack of intensity and engagement by the players. All the other teams are ramping up and starting to play playoff-like hockey in the stretch run. The scrums are getting more common, tempers are getting shorter, and the physical game is picking up. You see even the skill guys getting involved in the scrums and the face washes. Not the Hawks. They are just so MEH lately.

I mean, I took my dogs for a walk the other night during the first period... That should speak for itself.

agree they are NOT fun to watch. Even at the start of the season when their record was really good some of the games were not very entertaining and they were getting by by the film on their teeth (less so for Duncs). At no point in the season have I been convinced by this team that they have what it takes to make a long deep run in the playoffs. The winning record was fun but it wasn't a very convincing record. Teams like the Bruins and the Pens have been teams fun to watch as have the Rangers. Oilers were a blast to watch before the injuries hit their young roster and they fell to earth a little. Dare I say it that I have even watched some LA games that have been entertaining even though low scoring (Quick has been an amazing goalie to watch this year). At points in the season even the Leafs have been more interesting (that hurt to say but its true).

I hear you loud and clear. It's been a strange season much like last years with no cup hangover excuse to hang the hats on. Its been a season of strange messes poor decisions and unclear focus. Who knows what could happen if they make the playoffs but getting there now is the toughest battle and that sucks being in the same spot again.

You would think a team that is pretty boring to watch would be good defensively....right? It makes no sense to me.

Really the only memorable moments this season are Toews and Hossa going into beast mode. Other than that? Hardly anything to hang your hat on as far as excitement goes. Since Toews has been injured this team has just been horseshit to watch.

You got that right. The Cup team was something else though and assembling a team like that again might be almost impossible.

I hear you but doesnt mean the team we have now can't play entertaining hockey. The 08-09 and 09-10 seasons were just great entertainment. I couldn't wait for puck drop. Now it is like "Oh the hawks are on, **** me."

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Eh...i'll still watch, only because I see comedy in tragedy.

Hell, play the blackhawks grinking game, 2012 version:

Drink every time a player turns it over at the blue line

Drink every time a defensman makes an outlet pass to a forward on the other team.

Drink every single time a player forgets the puck.

Drink every time a goalie is so far out of their net they need a GPS to get back.

Drink every time a player bobbles a pass.

Drink every time a point man, on the powerplay, takes time to settle a pass down before firing it inot a PK'ers shins (be it a bad pass or them not wanting to on-etime it)

Drink every time a shot from below the hash marks goes right into the crest of the goalie.

Drink every time Q makes a line change

I swear after a few games of that your liver will be as fortified as a dumpster full of concrete.

I went shopping just to avoid the game. That should say something.

Man I could have written this myself I agree so totally. I am really enjoying watching Panther and Jets games. Among others.

I found myself so frustrated that I would wake up in the AM and be happy until the first thougtht of the Hawks entered my mind and I just felt SICK TO MY STOMACH with disgust. I decided that, since I seem to care more than the team about winning, and I cannot make them care more, I had better stop caring so much just for my own health.

Just such a waste of talent and opportunity.

I had to play my own game Sunday night and I was glad I did not have to watch the Hawks...for a guy that DREAMED of watching the Hawks through the whole 1970's (execpt road games the first few years) and the 1980's and could only listen on the radio, not wanting to watch the hawks just does not seem possible, but that's where I am.

That might happen before the middle of the first period.

The best reason to enjoy Center Ice. I get to see what good hockey looks like.

The Hogs do play 3-4 times a season right in Chicago for goodness sake, and Rockford is not far away. Or like you said, buy one of those new-fangled VCRs. Grin. I live in Grand Rapids and have seen Ken Holland, Steve Yzerman, Dave Lewis and Mike Babcock, etc at Griffins games before but I cannot honestly say but I think the time Babcock was here the Wings were already out of the playoffs and the Griffins were still playing.

I would hope that decisions about moving players up and down are a team effort among the head coach, scouting, Scooter and the AHL coaches.

I still watch the games out of duty (fucked up I know) but I mostly play computer while the game is on as background noise, if something interesting happens I look up and see but mostly dont watch the game, too boring.

This coaching staff's days are numbered.

Wow, he's definitely a Scotty Bowman guy. Could be interesting. I wonder if he is returning to the Hawks as more than a scout this time.

So do I, but this is a clear Scotty Bowman move, and likely a huge message being sent to the current staff. Barry Smith was Scotty's assistant in Detroit. Most people there thought he would take over for Scotty when he retired, but they went with Dave Lewis instead. He is highly regarded for his hockey mind. Isn't he the one that brought the left wing lock to the Redwings from Europe?

Not sure but he was also in Pittsburg and Buffalo as a coach.

This if anything is a clear message to knowledgable fans that Scotty knows that Kitch is a fucking dumbass and needs to have his ass wiped for him.
