Where's Mike Smith?
I think I've seen him on the NHL network from time to time.
Where's Mike Smith?
While we are floating BS why not give Savvy another chance behind the bench?

That would be the equivalent of dynamic duo known as StanBo and McPimp admitting they were wrong.
To be fair that was under DT not Stan.
Edit- I recall McPimp had only been recently hired as well.

Wasn't the rumor at the time that McPimp made him do it?
Not a chance. He's done with coaching. And the guy is pushing 80.
Q was let go from the Avs, and then the Hawks hired him as "advisor". He got the DUI shortly before training camp which made it pretty much impossible to replace Savvy with him. I think they brought Q in all along to replace Savard, but didn't want to do that after he got the DUI because of the bad PR. If they had waited any longer, it would have been a PR nightmare to fire Savvy. More nepotism.
No question but the DIU in Colorado screwed them. Then after that they couldn't possibly fire Savard if the team when on a run, which they would have because they were just that good. He was clearly hired to be the coach.
PR nightmare firing Savvy would have been because one they were relatively new, IE Mcdonough and Rocky, and two Savard was a legend and this team would have been on fire no matter the coach. THat's how talented they were.

If Bolig plays tomorrow, it will be his NHL debut. Bollig skated with Jamal Mayers – who’s provided the most consistent physical presence this season -- and Jimmy Hayes today. He said he’ll try to bring what’s worked for him in Rockford.
“Being sound defensively, finishing every check. It’s not just fighting but that physical aspect and bringing that energy that gets the scoring lines going,” he said today.
Coach Joel Quenneville said “I haven’t seen (Bollig) play but he’s doing well down there. He gives us energy on that line, toughness, with speed and quickness. He’s responsible in the tough areas.”
Even though he's pulling strings right now. There was a reason he flew from Florida to the west coast during the road trip. Wasn't because he needed a vacation.
