Agreed PMX... and Supra, as it stands it looks like the top 2 lines will be Kane, Toews, Hossa... Sharp, Kruger, Stalberg. That's all I was going off.

Also, I completed the article. My heart says the Hawks win game one 3-1, my head says lose 4-2.

I think we will see our struggles in game one. I also think we will win the series in 7, this will be tougher than most people think.

I wouldn't be counting on this being an easy series. I would not count out the Coyotes in any game. Hawks need to be patient and keep it simple and play a solid defensive game, no more of these stupid giveaways and dumb risky passes in their own zone. Clear the crease in front of Crawford and populate the crease in front of Smith. And the Hawks need to dictate the pace and style of the game, if they start catering to how Phoenix wants to play they will be having problems.

I am hoping that the Kane-Toews-Hossa line will click from the get-go and be the leading trio of the playoffs.

Nothing at this time of year is ever easy. That said if this team plays as it can, as a team, they should have no problem winning this series in 5-6 games. If they don't play to their potential, like several times this year, it will be a lot more difficult.

I say the hawks make Mike Smith lose his fucking marbles in the first period.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Skill-wise, yeah, our D has it all over theirs.

System wise, they have it all over us.

There are 2 keys to this match IMHO: 1) The forwards have to move the puck in the attacking zone quicker. They need to make the decision to pass, shoot, or move to better ice before the Coyotes D closes ranks and takes away all options. Those that don't have posession need to make themselves open and those that have possession can't stand around looking for the 100% perfect plays. Be it Hossa or Hammer, no one should be above an ugly goal. Key 2) The D just has to play more basic and smarter. Don't look for the pretty play, don't go for the no-look play. Keep your head on a swivel and know where the opposition is and if you're carying the puck out--don't be afraid to chip it out rather than skate through multiple defenders. Crawford as a goalie is more than adequate but we have to give him a chance and not make him see odd-man rushes and breakaways.

And the final key which is not really banking on a win: If anyone goes high on Toews, you don't wait for an RSVP, you go Matt Walker on Ed Jovonovsky. And if you cannot take the honor of defending your captain, you better be begging to kill the ensuing penalty.

They play like they have the last 6 weeks of the season and they won't have any problems. Just win.

Don't know why. Coyotes basically need their guy to play great to win. Hawks don't. He can be average, they'll be fine.

Melrose seems to be the only one I've read that even takes us out of the first round.

He must love the mullets.

also the best "expert" in US hockey coverage. Not just because he picks us in the cup and picked us in our cup year, either. Seems he's the only one with any legitimate smarts about hockey. Him and Buggigross are good.

Kelly Chase and Billy Jaffe both picked us in 6 on the NHL Network's Western Conference preview Tuesday night.

FYI, if the Rangers/Sens game goes into OT, NBCSC has an extra channel, 604, (at least on Direct TV) so you should be able to see the whole game in it's entirity. Last night the Direct TV guide had the Canucks/Kings game listed both on NBCSC (603) and their alternate channel (604).

I'm hoping if that's the case TSN puts the game on TSN2

It better be. It's every Canadian's god-given right to watch every playoff game. Otherwise, TSN, CBC, will never hear the end of it.
