 More fucked up than even Wonder Showzen? Because the two season of WS I feel had some of the most hysterically bent stuff on TV (or at least stuff involving puppets!) in the last decade. . .which is precisely why I loved it, heh.
Wonder Showzen makes complete sense when compared to Food Party... at least one can "follow" where they're going with things. Besides who doesn't love (to) "Beat Kids"?

Ha! I freakin' loved the "Beat Kids" segments on WS---comedy gold right there. Maybe I will Netflix at least the 1st disc of this Food Party show if it's *THAT* fucked up and all, heh.

I can't in good conscience recommend Food Party to anyone, anywhere, ever... but if you must... have at it. :D

If you have any mind-altering substances available to partake of before-hand (hell, even a handful of ibuprofen would work) might be worth the "prep."

Unlike Wondershowzen, you don't even get a warning. It just dives in and takes you with.

It's kind of like watching Manos: The Hands of Fate WITHOUT MST3000 commentary. It can be done... but by the end you kind of wonder how Satan became your new master.

Holy crap! Now you have me scared and second-guessing myself---maybe sight unseen I should just concede that some shows are simply TOO vanguard, even for me. Luckily I haven't logged in and done anything to my Netflix queue.

Perhaps I gave it a bit too much hyperbole. I would say just search for it on Youtube and you'll get a good idea. In fact, here:

Oh God! That just plain looks B-A-D! And not in a "it's so bad it's actually awesome" way like say MST3K either. Calculated trippiness? That's weak sauce poseurdom. Thank goodness you posted that clip and nipped any delusions I had to renting it in the fucking bud. Yeah. . .pass.

From what I understand Thu Tran (the hostess and I believe creator) is an "art" student.

The biggest thing I can't understand is just who the audience for this show is.

1. Well that certainly explains the pretension now.

2. Attendees of over-hyped Contemporary art biennials of course! The weirder the fucking media "installations" the more they slurp it up like a fat man who gets a porkchop.

Paraphrased from the Simpsons:

Homer: Hey Moe, what's with all the weird stuff all over the walls?

Moe: It's Po Mo.

Homer and Barflys: (quizzical expressions)

Moe: You know? Weird for the sake of being weird...

I hate when people like something that is utterly stupid like that, and when you say its stupid they act like it is their superior intellect that allows them to find it funny, and that you are simply too much of a neandrathal to appreciate it.
