Both parents here. My grandmother raised me and always told me to "just google it" when I asked her questions. Of course this was 1978 and I had no idea what she was talking about.

My old man taught me how to pay more attention to buying fucking very expensive guitars he didn't need instead of supporting his kids. Dead beat dads are the greatest!! Yah I have issues I haven't delt with yet **** off.

My mom on the other hand taught me how to live with the environment as I too grew up in the mountains and I fucking loved it as a kid. My mom taught me how to camp and how to kick me out of the house to go on hiking trips with friends and to not give a shit if I hitch-hiked around the province on my own with nothing but a backpack. My moms the most hardcore woman in the world when it comes to that shit. She could out survive most men in the woods just off of her pure intelligence for the outdoors. Honestly hard woman she would eat all of us alive if she wanted to but she would also tell you to go to a natural path and put you on a vitamine diet before she did cause my mother is also a hippy freak.

No you can't bang her!!

Life Below Zero is the one that shows the different families, including the white dude with the native wife and family. The Last Frontier is the one that focuses on the one family, the Kilchers, that lives on the homestead.

I like both shows.

Lol. I have that same app.
On a somewhat Alaska related note. The ice pilots that used to be on discovery filmed our exploration tent camp during an episode. They made it all dramatic saying they had to get the miners out before a storm. They were drillers. We weren't actually mining and it storms there everyday anyway. And they were just swapping rotations with another crew. Nothing dire out it. They said it was the most dangerous runway in Alaska. I highly doubt that. There were two crashed planes at the end of the runway though. I flew out the day before so I didn't get to be in the scenes. But my buddies were!

Oh and if anyone watches ultimate survival Alaska, that ****** from the lower 48 that quit at the end two episodes ago got picked up in an Era helicopter. I was likely in that helicopter and have hundred of pictures of landing on stream banks like where they picked him up. Probably doesn't sound quite as cool to anyone else. But I thought it was awesome! Oh. Here's the photo from the TV. I took a picture to send to my buddies that I worked with.
