And it would be a fine deal since it's only a year but the Phillies I don't feel are that close to the playoffs. They are significantly behind the Braves and Nationals and probably won't be competitive witht he second best team in the Central/West for the final WC spot.

It is 100% fact that there is a high price tag for 4th starters. That is the going rate.

I suggest you do some real research on him and compare his contract to a large amount of players with similar stats.
