It seems that the rooftop owners are having their own presser soon to discuss their own renovation ideas around Wrigley Field.
The latest on the "let us do our thing" situation via BN:

I would debate the ranking of Wrigley Field as top 3 in the state of tourist destinations.
I would think Gurnee, Woodfield, O'Hare, Midway, Mag Mile, Brookfield Zoo
I would need to see hard data. I know Brookfield Zoo said they get 2,000,000 people to the Seven Seas which is an extra fee. I could see the Zoo doing twice that number each year, but hard to find actual data.
Yorktown = 10 million per year. Yep, Wrigley is not a top 3
Well, you also have to figure there are visitors outside of game days. They walk around the park, they watch games in Wrigleyville, they also take the tours when the team is out of town. I doubt it gets to 10 million but it's probably quite a good chunk of people who visit the neighborhood. The more accurate thing to say is that Wrigleyville is the attraction and not just the Cubs and Wrigley Field.
As a Wrigleyville resident, I am all for improvements to Wrigley, thus adding value to the neighborhood! However, I am against blocking the view from the Wrigley Rooftops! They add to the experience of Wrigley Field, and add jobs and a fun experience. Add a hotel, fine. Upgrade the amenities in and around Wrigley, fine. Block the view from the rooftops, unacceptable.

**** the Rooftops, the Cubs are providing the product that they are making fortunes off of, while only a little has gone to the Cubs, and I don't buy that their advertising plan is anywhere near ours. But guess if we can't do anything that interferes with these filter feeders then we are out of luck ever getting a jumbotron.
