That's not white privilege. That's he knows the coach who feels sorry for him, dumbass.

Nepotism is a much worse problem in the NFL and the good old boy Network rather than any form of alleged privilege.

Everyone in the NFL is paid millions of dollars just about so you could argue regardless of race, they are all "privileged".

Really I hate the whole idea of this privilege argument because it's just used as a method to attack people just because of their race.

Which is the opposite of what the group who often uses it claims to be about...

You say that as if nepotism is mutually exclusive from white privilege. The fact a white coach felt sorry for his former shitty white QB can be an example of nepotism and white privilege as where are the examples he felt sorry for his shitty black players?

White privilege often times gives white people more opportunities to benefit from nepotism since the decision makers are often white and it is more likely people of the same race build relationships that can take advantage of said nepotism.

Not saying that is what happened here. Just saying your argument is flawed.

I liked Wilson coming out but had no doubt the Jets would ruin him.

It is too early for the Jets to ruin him. Maybe you were just wrong about him like you were Trubisky.

Your QB evaluation skills probably just suck.

I'm sure Arlington Heightsburger will do just fine at LT - not even worried.

WR Rodney Adams was a 5th round selection by the Vikings. He hasn't played since 2017. Judging by how often his name is coming up in camp, he's been busting his butt to get back in the league.

I hope to see him in preseason.

Hopefully this means we can dump Wims and Ridley.

I think it's time to move on from Ridley...give someone else a chance.

It's possible. They have normally kept 6 WR with Pace/Nagy.

Arob, Mooney, Byrd, and Goodwin are likely locks.

So, you have 2 spots left between:

Newsome, Ridley, Adams, Wims

Wims gets mentioned a lot, both good and bad. Personally, he is another guy I would be fine with them moving on from.

There has been almost no mention of Newsome as I said before. Still a lot of time before final cuts, and he did have return ability which would help...but he has not been mentioned at all outside of hurting his shoulder in minicamp, and then PUP list.

Adams seems to be making plays and catching balls from both Dalton and Fields. That bodes well for him.

And there have not been many mentions for Ridley.

Special teams will be huge for these guys.

Didn't pay too much attention since the draft started at #3 this year. He can certainly throw the ball but there's so much more to being an NFL QB. Hard to know which guys are good, bad or meh and their 1st camp sure isn't the place to decide. The 1st 2 QBs taken could easily be the ones to fall into the last 2 categories. One of the 1st rounders will certainly fail and it's likely that at least another underachieves. Where they got picked has nothing to do with it.

It's about revenue. Look at the jersey sales. Simply having him on the roster will put more butts in the seats in Jacksonville. He still has a huge following in the state of Florida.
I agree. But at the end, i really think organizations didn’t want to deal with what came with Kapernick. It’s the baggage that came with it. They just didn’t want to be put in a position where they would have to make a decision on where they stand. And whatever tney sided with, it would be a “damn if I do, damn if I don’t” kind of thing. Basically like the saying, “it’s bad for business”. They are not saying it’s wrong or right what he was doing. Just looking at it from the business side. That’s what I really think it was. Because they would have made lots of money with him coming back. But they didn’t think it was worth the risk with what came with it on the business side. No proof of it, just what I think. And I’m not saying there is nobody in the NFL that is racist. I’m pretty sure there is. Just saying that now before someone says, “so you think the NFL is not racist?”

Adams used to return kicks for the Vikings. There was a mention of dropping kicks including a costly turnover. If he's worked on that, he might be able to do it for the Bears.

I'm done with both Wims and Ridley.

I forgot to mention Jon'Vea Johnson earlier.

So, likely 2 spots between: Newsome, Ridley, Adams, Wims, and Johnson

Again, special teams will be a large part of the end of the roster decisions. But, you would think/hope that unless Ridley steps up in the preseason games, it's likely going to come down to Newsome, Adams, and Johnson.

And the crazy thing there is, that would mean that 4 out of 6 WR players would have changed from 2020 to 2021.

I’m not a Tebow fan but I think there is this off sort of weird mystical leadership quality to him that is super rare. Maybe it's me just looking for a way to rationalize this signing but I imagine Lawrence is a big part of it. Like Meyer wanting whatever Tebow has to rub off on him.

I honestly don't see the big deal in it.
Then he should sign the Pope to the team. He probably gets heard by God well before Tebow does nowadays.

I have been around a long time and Fields is the most physically talented Bears QB I have ever seen. That being said you are right about the many, many Bears mistakes at that position. For example it would have been very Bear like to take Mac Jones over Justin Fields.

The Jets taking Wilson over Fields is the Jets simply being the Jets. Like the Bears in the past they have done this before.

Dude honestly might be the most physically talented qb at the position ever.

Guys like vick/Lamar who were fast couldn't really throw it worth a damn.

Still can't believe a guy with the athleticism of an elite RB playing qb, who just so happens to be the most accurate player in College football too, slipped to the bears.
