No Noah no Melo.....We cannot get Carmelo.
The Knicks will get him. Unfortunately, we're going to be used as a smoke screen to keep more options available with NY.
Does anyone think that Anthonys agents are using the Bulls as leverage for the Knicks to up the ante on their deal?
Of course

Ya know, with Boozers health history it is really risking giving up Taj. His defense is real good as is his rebounding and he randomly has these games where he shows his scoring potential. But if you have the chance to trade Deng, Taj and picks for Melo, you do it. Maybe it doesnt earn you a title this year. But when you have a chance to add a couple pieces in the off-season, it puts you right there with anyone in the league.
For all the times we all have just speculated the true possibility of adding him......
Here the opportunity arises. Now, I know we each have different trade ideas to get Melo. Though, have we thought about it much past a 2-Team Trade?
Yes, when the idea arose that it could have been a Nuggets/Bulls/76ers deal we saw the lack luster interest possibly from Denver. NOW, they are in a predicament cutting it closer and closer to Trade Deadline.
The chances to bring it into even a 4-Team Trade is also possible. I'm not gonna start to raddle off teams that may or may not work well with the situation. I do believe that this can happen, & happen quick. Here we see Worldwide Wes has re-emerged into the whole "bringing a superstar to Chicago" pitch. Being that he is on Thibs side & Melo's this is good news.
The classic question still remains........are we being used as a smoke screen again or are they serious this time?
I don't think the Bulls have the pieces to get it done no matter what, even if Melo wanted to come here. The Knicks are both his preferred destination and can make the best bid. But lets suspend disbelief for a second ...
I don't get the obsession with trying to move Deng and Taj in the deal. A 3/4 rotation of Melo/Boozer/Scalabrine? Yuck.
Far better to try to find a third team to take Boozer, and run a rotation of Deng/Melo/Taj. IMO if the Bulls were to get involved a deal like Boozer to Indiana, Paul George + Dunleavy's expiring plus whatever picks from the Bulls to the Nuggets, Carmelo to the Bulls makes the most sense.
Indiana get a PF they desperately need for an expiring and a young player who is stuck behind their franchise guy, Denver get a cheap young player who plays Melo's position and a bunch of picks with no long term salary taken on, Bulls get to keep their depth.
Now whether Indiana actually want to take on salary rather than just let Dunleavy expire, who knows. And I still don't think Denver take that deal over the Knicks deal, but it makes a lot more sense for them than taking on Deng.
Hey guys what exactly is a trade exception?
