Went to fangraphs and they had some interesting leaderboads. Was interested to see that Samardzija has the fastest average fastball amongst starters right now. I am sure that won't last, but it is interesting to see his 95.7 just a shade ahead of Strasburg right now.

So I didn't get to see Samardzija's outing...I assume he went away from whatever he was doing and started throwing meatballs in that fifth inning eh? TONS of pitches today even before that inning.

The Cards picked up his options, but if Wainwright continues to struggle and isn't resigned by the Cardinals I wonder if the Cubs could pick him up for like $5MM and fix him after his current contract is up.
