We had Casey McGehee at 3B last year who is probably just as bad as A-Ram defensively. Plus Yuni won't be back.

I am hoping Brewers can land A-Ram and then also add Furcal/Rollins at SS. They should have the funds for that.

I think a lineup of:

1. Rafael Furcal/Jimmy Rollins SS
2. Nyjer Morgan CF
3. Ryan Braun LF
4. Aramis Ramierz 3B
5. Rickie Weeks 2B
6. Corey Hart RF
7. Mat Gamel/Casey McGehee 1B
8. Jonathan Lucroy C

That lineup could be just as good as it was last year, depending on how Gamel does of course.

Rami has 4 teams interested in him, 3 of whom made hims offers

The Angels and Brewers are two. Florida maybe, wouldn't surprise me and the Tigers possibly.

I'm going out on a limb here and sticking with my gut...he'll join Ozzie Guillen in Miami.

Reyes will go back with the Mets, Pujols to re-sign with the Cards.

Mark Buehrle to the Nats or Texas...CJ Wilson to the Nats.. Nats get one of Buehrle or Wilson. I see them striking out on most and Rami will then be the best option. That meaning the Marlins will make a good offer that Ramirez can't pass up.

Sounds more to me like you aren't gonna even set yourself up to be disappointed more than anything.

By saying we won't get anyone.

Yeah... I know. They signed Bell. If they signed Jose Reyes, the Marlins would only give the Mets a 3rd round pick. I don't know if they'll apply the same. I forgot and I'll lok it now. but first guess, I say no.

Bell is modified so they won't give up a draft pick.

It was posted on MLBTR... that's where I found the link and it's discription. I don't know, it's confusing. A lot of reports are conflicting, so we'll see when the time comes.

I'm sure if you Google the CBA and how it affects relievers you'll probably find that the Padres aren't getting anything but that supp pick. But if the Marlins do end up giving up their second-rounder for Bell, well, that's just their tough luck.

According to a Brewers source, they are preparing to offer A-Ram a 3 year deal w/mutual option on the 4th year.

While I cannot confirm a contract offer has been made, one source told me that the Brewers are "definitely in" on Ramirez. Another source stepped it up a notch and said the Brewers are "heavily interested" in the former Cubs third baseman.

The Ramirez camp has made it abundantly clear that Milwaukee is a preferred destination. That could be a reason the negotiations have spiked between the Brewers and Ramirez, though it's also reported that the Angels and Tigers are also interested. Any possible deal would likely be shopped to those organizations before finalizing anything.

If I were the Brewers with this being A-Ram's last huge payday, I'd gently nudge him over to 1B to finish off the contract while grooming a better defensive replacement at 3B.

I agree, I think he would be a pretty good 1B.

I hope if the Crew signs him, he can bing over his good buddy Derek Lee to play 1B and platoon with Gamel.

Then sign Furcal or Rollins. Lucroy/Lee/Weeks/Furcal/A-Ram/Braun/Morgan/Hart is a pretty good offense.

I'm not sure you want more expensive old guys on your team  I like Derrek Lee though.
