I agree 100%...the rivalry is beyond stupid. They're not even in the same league.
The stupid rivalry is between the fans of each team and not the actual teams themselves.
It's between loud-mouthed, asshat, fucktard fans of each team who want to sit there and go "Oh yeah?....well my team's better than yours..neener, neener, neener."
Real baseball fans wouldn't even worry about a so-called "rivalry" which should be nonexistant to begin with.
I'm absolutely White Sox 1st but, if a team has "Chicago" in it's name and/or on it's away jerseys then I hope it wins...even the Cubs (except when they play the White Sox in interleague play.)

I've been a die-hard Sox fan since most of the members on here were still in diapers. (20+ years.)
I wouldn't call myself a fan of both per se but, I definitely wish the Cubs well. to question my or anyone else's fandom of a team based on that is beyond ludicrious.
Some of us are mature adults who don't take part in this stupid, immature, outdated, so-called rivalry between the Sox and Cubs.

Yup, Capt Serious, Brett and BigP50 all have expressed what I think, but I can also see the other side of it. Yes, there is no real rivalry between these times ON the field, but there is certainly one off the field and if you don't think so, you are delusional.
That said, the fact that UMan can't even man up and post in this thread to explain his opinion is just sad and pathetic. I really hope he never posts in the Sox forum again. Go rot with the rest of the Cubby fans.

I live in an area of the country where fans have no team in the general vicinity, They're stuck rooting for the closest team to their area which may be hours and hours away. They would LOVE to be lucky enough to have just ONE team actually in their area.
Chicago is blessed to have TWO teams (who have no real rivarly between them) and yet the fucktard, asshat, jerkwad fans on both sides can't get over themselves long enough to realize this fact.
They'd rather argue "Oh yeah my team is better than yours....and your team sucks." for generations. The real irony is that for the most part, BOTH teams have sucked for the better part of the last century...so there should be no real argument to begin with.
