Possibly because the Yankees are better.

Rays can play with them. They've proved that the last few years. They're better but that doesn't mean the Rays shouldn't be able to beat them.

Of course. In a short series anything can happen in baseball. The Rays have been outscored by the Yankees by a large margin though over the course of the season and are now 5-9 against them. Yes, they have the capability to beat them, but they didn't, in no small part because the Yankees are the better team and are thus more likely to win.

Agreed. Just thought the Rays would muster a little more passion and fire knowing Boston has lost the past two days. Didn't see the urgency they need if they want the Wild Card.

I'm pretty sure they wanted it. Sometimes the ball just won't fall your way.

Yankees have clinched and will either play Detroit or Texas or maybe even the Angels if they make it. They've pretty much shut down which means the Rays will probably make up the half game to get 2 back of Boston.

Rays are also a game up on the Angels after Toronto's walkoff homer.

I think the Cubs are lowering the bleacher ticket prices to try to create the illusion that more people are going to games on TV broadcasts.
