My Minnesota friend won't shut up about the wild being the hottest team in the league right now. I told him I'd take vermette and sharp anyday over minny turdsux and he looked at me funny.

Funny how they were about a game away from going full implosion and getting rid of Yeo.

I also reminded him that they were 1-3 vs. the hawks.

I've already said on this forum once today, I trust nanny sources... soo I trust it. More domestic struggle for Hawk rivals.

Great play for a goal by Kevin Hayes

Blackhawks definitely missed out on K Hayes. I understand why he made the decision that he did in order to set himself up for the future...but damn does it stink. Blackhawks weren't happy one bit and most of management/coaching believed he was NHL ready and the most complete prospect they had. He is proving them right...just he is doing it with the Rangers.

It's also hard to really say they effed up doing things specifically. It just got twisted with depth. Honestly I'd say the treatment of signing guys like Leblah and Carey and the consistent half decade trend of the Rockford travel system send Hayes away more than any of the Jimmy issue.

I don't think it had to do with Rockford or the other signings. Blackhawks had told Hayes that he would have a spot on the team but Hayes took a look at RW and saw Kane/Hossa and knew he would never get top 6 time. I know NYR played him at Center sometimes but Hayes was focused on RW. He knew that if he played 3rd line on the Hawks that he wouldn't get the minutes needed to put up points and show what he could do...which would lead to more money when his next contract was up. The Blackhawks and Rangers basically offered him the same amount of money at the end of the day, it was all about getting that second contract...so it is hard to blame him. Have to remember that these guys have a short span to make the large majority of their money - they have dreams and families to support as well. Blackhawks are pissed and hate the compensation though...K Hayes was ready now...the draft pick is going to take another 3-4 years and who knows, they may never be ready. They had the "sure" thing in an NHL player and I think any team would take that over the unknown.

Thing is though, it's not like he's getting big minutes in New York right now. He's getting about the same amount of time Bickell is getting and is having a much better season than him. He's getting less time than Ben Smith was getting and having a much better season than him as well. He's hardly getting power play time, so there's no real influx of points from that. Kane is probably here for life but Hossa will be getting Prongered or Savarded here 3, maybe 4 years from now probably and that opens up a spot for him right around when his second contract comes up. They'll be losing one of Sharp or Bickell as soon as next season. There was going to be room.

But I don't blame him for not signing. Because....he probably would've been in fucking Rockford up until now. Rotting away. While the Hawks **** around with dressing Carcillo or Nordstrom or whoever. The Blackhawks have only themselves to blame for losing out on him. They made quite a few moves that just weren't needed as well as having a coach that is hesitant to let a rookie play through his mistakes.

Somehow flew under the radar but Nashville recalled Stalgod a few days ago in an attempt to curb their mega slump
