Is the AK47 the most powerful rifle? I recall that was the gun used by the California bank robbers in that infamous shootout 15 years ago. Sometimes they show the story on the History channel and they said the bullets from that thing would go easily through 3 cars. So that said, would any vest be powerful enough to stop something like that or would it be futile?

Got to give the Jarheads props, their Dress Blues are the best looking dress uniform in the Military.

Are you talking about those long coats that they have?

When did they ever wear pink like Jove was talking about? That would be awesome.

These are Marine dress blues:

"Pinks and Greens" was the term for the dress uniform the Army wore during World War II:

Hope this answers your questions.

Thanks. I saw some Marines walking around one day and they had long blue coats that came to their knees and a red belt or sash. They looked pretty fancy so I thought that might be their dress uniforms.

So where the hell is the pink? Those outfits are so boring.

I would give the link but I'm posting from my phone...so google marine corps body armor. Wiki has a picture of the full kit they give marines. You can clearly see that the plates are rated for 7.62 rounds.

Which era?

Saving Private Ryan was remarkably accurate regarding equipment, uniforms, vehicles ect... I was impressed by the WW2 German vehicles being authentic.

Okay I got one. Do the troops really love seeing A-10s doing CAS for them. I heard the grunts love the things and the enemy hates seeing them.

I thought that really happened.

Any era if you have knowledge.

I worked with a marine that did tours in Vietnam, and it was interesting to watch films with the themes of war/military, because he'd point out what was BS and what was authentic.

Tactics, the ways soldiers react, vehicles (which you mentioned), etc.

He had an autographed picture of R. Lee Emery in his office, so it led me to believe he was a fan of Full Metal Jacket.

I spent 6 of my 17 years in the AF at A-10 bases. The thing that always amazed me is that they actually fly because the design is so different and they are so heavy and slow in comparison to other aircraft.
