You know what, if I could do it all over again I think I would have probably majored in Political Science instead of minoring. It's actually both amazing and fascinating to me how a message board becomes an actual community. In it's purest forms it's pretty primitive: somebody puts the seed money together to buy some property on the internet and invites people to their community. They make promises about how they are the biggest and best, and that they have the most to offer. Eventually, as the community becomes larger and larger sides are drawn, and alliances are made. In some cases, people make plays at the 'government (mods)', and what is the defense? You silence people by imposing a ban. Political prisoners because they question authority. But what keeps the community going? That mutual belief in one thing. In the case of CCS it is Chicago Sports.
