I was incorrect in that the refs and such were kind of there breakign them up already, but bordy was just standing up from pumelling Olsen when he got tackled by shaw. I agree that Brookbank had no reason to come off the bank, that was dumb, he should have waited for the third, or let Bollig do it.

I could have sworn they cut him off at the pass but yea I'm old he could have gotten there. Brookbank never got there.

I just watched Shaw's career fight card on YouTube. He's still young... the way he takes on bigger opponents, he may be the modern day Tie Domi when all is said and done.

I think Bollig was one leg over the boards for the line change so he didn't get caught for "coming over the bench" as he went after the dude, but refs interfered. Other than that, there was no one on the ice that could protect Olsen.



What Shaw did is was what ANY hockey teammate would do in that situation. To call it "dumb" is just "dumb".

I don't think it was dumb but what got him suspended was. Jumping over the bench did not get him the 6 game. Going crazy on the Refs did.

And I will say the other day I swear I heard Dent tell flick to go get in a fight. He may have very well sent Shaw out there.

110% correct which made the 7 uppercuts he took from Shaw all that more enjoyable. Look at Shaw's fight card he has never fought anyone that isn't at least 3" taller than him (not hard to do). Thing is.... he could develop to be a Tie Domi clone. No one will ever be as awesome as Tie Domi was for his stature but Shaw could emulate it quite a bit.

Once the refs were there, almost instantly he should have mellowed out. That got him 5 extra games. That's a LARGE suspension!
