Joakim Noah should learn the plays. You know who probably knows all of the plays for his team? Carmelo Anthony.

Please stop trolling us with talk of Ben Gordon. You're getting as bad as SP94 with all of his J.R. Smith trolling.

And?

The Nuggets didn't want to match salaries with Luol Deng.

Yeah but Carmelo doesn't play defense, Noah does. And Carmelo would want to be the guy to shoot all the time, he doesn't seem like a team player. I'm glad we didn't get him

Carmelo's offense > Noah's defense

Yeah Melo is such a "non team" guy that the last time Melo played a full season for a team that didn't win 50 games it was his rookie season.

:yeah:

Have I missed something? Has Carmelo done things to throw teammates under the bus? How exactly is he not a 'team player?'

here compare the career stat lines of Carmelo to Luol Deng who would've been part of the trade for Carmelo
Carmelo Anthony Stats - New York Knicks - ESPN
Luol Deng Stats - Chicago Bulls - ESPN

you'll notice that Melo takes a lot of shots a game, last year about 19 and he would make around 8 or 9. Luol made around 6.5 shots a game but only took about 14 a game. So Deng was a more efficient shooter. Carmelo scores a lot because he shoots a lot IMO and the stats back it up. And if you compare The assists, Carmelo averaged 3 and Deng averaged 2. So Carmelo shoots a lot more than deng but doesn't assist much more then him. So Carmelo is a ball hog IMO and ball hogs aren't team players. So this is why I'm glad we didn't trade for Carmelo. We kept Deng who is more efficient and we kept Noah who plays better defense. I'd rather have an efficient player and a Solid defender than a ball hog who doesn't play defense any day. If you'd rather have it the other way around then I guess we just see differently.

Is it Carmelos scoring average? :dunno: if you're going to say that numbers mean nothing then I feel bad that you are bullshitting yourself. I know numbers aren't everything, but they show trends that have been and probably will stay the same which means that Deng will always be more efficient, but if you'd rather have the cocky big name ball hog than the hard working get it done type play your role type of player then that's your opinion

Those are not Carmelo's scoring average. Please find it, because I think you'll take back the following statement:

They are not. Those numbers represent the number of shots that Michael Jordan took per game during the six championship seasons (regular season only). So, using your words that:

Would you consider Michael Jordan* to not be a team player? I mean, Michael took at least 3 more shots than Carmelo did. Using your logic, Michael Jordan is a worse teammate than Carmelo Anthony.

*Do not, do not, do not suggest that I am comparing Carmelo Anthony to Michael Jordan.

But Mike could play both sides of the ball!!

If Melo could play D like Lu I would trade Noah, Deng and Taj for him

Wow. Imagine that. A team's #1 scoring option taking more shots than another teams secondary and sometimes 3rd scoring option.

Bang up research job there.

What's next? Centers typically get more rebounds than point guards?
