Because of the overwhelming evidence that it's true. Read the thread tobfind 100+ others that agree with me. Hint: I put it in a spoiler tag

I already know that there are millions of people who agree with you, that doesn't make it true.

What makes you think that, of all the many religions in the world, yours is the right one?

You do realize that your beliefs are purely an accident of birth, right? Had you been born in Saudi Arabia or Mumbai, you would believe that Islam or Hinduism was the one true way.

Some people are just religiously minded. It's a crutch. The particular brand of crutch you choose is a result of the culture you were raised in.

What would be the best elements to harvest from a 10k ton, 4.5 billion year old (or 6k year old) space rock?

And just because there are millions that believe in evolution/the big bang does not make that true. Believing in those is also a form of religion. It is a belief in that which is a guess.

No one will KNOW for sure the truth until the end. Until then, we pick what we choose to be the truth.

No, it isn't a guess, it's examining evidence and learning. You religiously minded people choose ignorance over investigation, dogma over enlightenment. That's profoundly sad.

Would the iridium alone make the effort worth it?

Gotta love the way Christians view logic.

Evolution - it has been shown that life on Earth evolves, extensive evidence is present as to how and why it works, but because we haven't found every answer to every detail, you choose to ignore the overwhelming evidence.

Creationism - absolutely no evidence whatsoever, no scientific logic, just inane ramblings from some bigoted, misogynistic goat herders from the Middle East two thousand years ago, and you believe it's the unwavering truth of everything.

There's just no way to talk such people around with logic, so I say leave them to their irrational beliefs and let the world move forward without them.

That's not very 'Christian of you...but anywho, what are most of these space rocks made of? How much would one be worth if you could capture/mine it?

(never mind who/what made the damn thing)

How rare is popcorn? Did you use microwaves to pop it?

You're munching on the scarcest form of exploding plant life in the entire existence of forever and always; plus butter and salt?

I like popcorn but it's shells stick in my teeth.

You "don't give a ****" about popcorn shells sticking in my teeth; or how old the earth is?

I know 2 things for sure, 3 things with a great deal of certainty, 5 things I feel pretty confident in, 8 things I'd bet on for the odds, 13 things I wouldn't argue about one way or the other...after that everything is a crap shoot.

Completely illogical and off topic. Start a new thread if you genuinely care outside of inappropriate attacks.
