Sucking up space rocks for human benefit, especially if they're coming that close, seems like a worthwhile thing to do. Let's bring them in low and slow on the next pass to milk 'em.

Of course there are holes, because the Big Bang Theory does not describe how the universe was formed, but how it expanded from a microscopic ball into what it is now. It does not explain how that ball was created... if you say the Big Bounce, that explains it in that instance but an original still had to form at some point. At the same time, the only explanation Creationism has for God always existing is that he's God.

Evolution is a matter of science; God is a matter of philosophy. People of faith would be better served being more introspective, and using their beliefs as a way of fulfilling their own relationship with God and completing their own character on a personal, individual level. Keep it out of politics and education; that's not where it belongs. The Bible is neither a science document nor a legal one. Please stop trying to use it as one, and we'll get along just fine.

Not only wrong but dead wrong. The science that is in the bible is 100% accurate and as far as I know prior to "science" getting it.

crap article by a non scientist alarmist political hack. It's inevitable something reasonably large will eventually hit us again but this asteroid is in no way special or guaranteed of anything.

I agree it's a crap article but why do you say "it's inevitable" something reasonably large will eventually hit us again?

We ain't no pussyass dinosaurs down here now, so any old space rock thinking about hitting us these days could get ***** slapped by human beings that don't play that shit.

And just because there are millions that believe in evolution/the big bang does not make that true. Believing in those is also a form of religion. It is a belief in that which is a guess.

No one will KNOW for sure the truth until the end. Until then, we pick what we choose to be the truth.
