I didnt say i support them. I said i follow them because i have no choice. I guess i could move to where those things are legal. Thats the one thing im free to do about it
You always have a choice. You just choose to follow those laws. You could have chosen not to.

you can't trust law enforcement agencies, they're only as good as the people giving them orders. And those people are not good and mostly have never been good. It's hard to justify draconian laws for petty theft when the big criminals are in government and never get any real punishment. How long has civil asset forfeiture been going on...with the blessing of politicians? That's pretty much systemic theft of private property.

I sympathize with those who want to preserve a sense of societal order but it can't be done from a top-down centralization of power approach. When you call for that you get awful laws like the War on Drugs...and end up doing nothing but empowering the criminals (both in and outside of government)

How do I remember this scene if it was cut from the us version? Is it in like the dvd version?

If you saw it on DVD, you probably got one of those "Directors Cut" that has that scene. If you saw it in the theater in the US in whatever year it was released...you did not see that at all.

Most of the US cuts were more of Mathilda being overly violent than overly sexual. Especially scenes with her using firearms.

I've always heard it's a power thing. Has very little to do with attraction to the same sex.

On another note, Ive heard many stories of guys in NFL locker rooms that have had gay teammates that chose not to come out for whatever reason and it was completely accepted in the locker room. I wonder if anyone cares anymore outside of the intrusive-judgy to type of religious person. I've heard that in younger demographics, masculinity is almost completely disassociated with being anti-gay.
Just say Tebow.

What would you think if they just legalize all drugs and legalized prostitution. But If you fuck a kid or rape a someone it’s the death penalty. Any violent crime including burglary also is very heavily penalized, but instead of going to prison you to go to like a work farm.

What a completely messed up situation.

IF the allegations are true, this is a case that may settle more quietly than you would expect. All depends on the parents. I would be fairly certain there is a private civil suit (not yet filed) in the works. Many times if this case is settled pleasantly for the Plaintiffs, there are handshake agreements to go lighter on the criminal charges (because the prosecutors do listen to the victims when it comes to sentencing). Although these types of quid pro quo deals are not ethical, they are pretty common.

And you have some parents that say FU I cannot be bought give the perpetrator the maximum sentence And some parents say what is done is done, and my kid is now set for life. And everywhere in between. Point being for the very few sex offenders that are rich (the vast majority don't have the kind of money it would take to really persuade a victim) sometimes the victim (or their parents) can be persuaded to go lighter on the sentence.

Well, that kid is going to spend a lot of money on therapy. Might as well get a pay day if possible. As you framed it, its being fed a shit sandwich no matter what.

It is what it is. I still wont use drugs because its not my thing but ya. I just wish the idiot criminals were actually afraid of the consequences of their actions.

I pass no judgment on any victim of sexual violence that takes a settlement and hands out a reduced sentence in return. Its pretty rare though.. most sexual offenders aren't wealthy people.

It happened in the Roesthlisberger case, the one in Georgia. The accuser told the DA she didn't want the case to go to trial because of the negative publicity. For most people, taking a settlement is going to make their life better than sending someone to prison for a long time.
