:yep: I agree, unless Cashner is coming back. It seems odd I haven't heard little to nothing about his rehab.

He hasn't even started a throwing program again. So no it isn't Cashner coming back. Coleman has a 3 something ERA in Iowa. So perhaps they are bringing him back, but I don't really want to see that. Though if they are bringing Coleman back perhaps that is a sign that they are finally conceding this season.

It's not Cashner.. It has to be Lopez. There's no one else. I would say Chris Carpenter but he has been groom to be a RP so no. Would rather see Grabow go.

So.. Z, Demp, Garza, Wells and Lopez (ugh).

I'm going to be really upset if it is Lopez. I am holding out hope that it is Casey Coleman that gets brought up. Not that I think Coleman is a major league starter, but I would rather find out for sure about a 23 kid then watch another washed up pitcher take the ball every fifth turn.

Or even bring up another young kid to get a shot. I know JJ has been bad but let's see what that kid can do. There's an open spot on the 40 man roster now. I think Grabow is probably on his way out. But right now, I see it being Lopez.

Cubs will look at Colemna, Lopez and Oriz for thgeir 5th spot. Out of those 3, go with Coleman. No questions ask, pretty self-explanitory move.

It looks like Lopez will start Sunday and Coleman will get a few more starts in Iowa.

Oriz? Do you mean Ram Ortiz or did we just sign somebody?

I'm glad Davis is gone. Davis, Lopez, Coleman, Russell..it's all the same. None of them belong near a major league starting staff. They might give a good start every 5th start and make you think "maybe he's coming around" but they never do, they suck dick.

None of this matters, the season is over. I'd like to see the best pitching prospect on the Double-A club come up and compete for the fifth starter job. There's nothing to lose.

Problem is that most of them suck right now. McNutt has a 14.40 ERA this month in three starts (granted two of them are him coming off of an injury). Robert Whitenack had Tommy John Surgery earlier and so he is gone for a year plus.

Casey Coleman more than likely isn't even a back of the rotation starter, but the kid is just 23. He is doing well in an extreme hitters league (PCL) and since the season is lost we ought to find out if he can figure out how to pitch in the majors. That gives sometime for McNutt to get healthy and back on track. When Coleman proves that he can't count again and McNutt is going good again you make that switch.

I am assuming it is Ramon Ortiz who has been pretty bad in Iowa. Coleman is just about the only SP on the I-Cubs that has an era under 4 last I checked.
