Convince me I'm wrong
No need to. You're absolutely right.
The Mack trade made that very clear. And it makes sense; Pace has had four full off-seasons and completely rebuilt the roster. He doesn't have three or four more years to fuck around, they need to be competitive now. The only question mark is Trubisky. If he's good, the Bears are in a Superbowl contender window for the next few years. If he isn't ... fuck.
It’s sad to be a win now team favored to win 6.5 games with fewer resources than any other team in the league the next few seasons. Pace should have been fired this offseason.

Can't put it all on Trubisky, his complete lack of inner warrior spirit put aside. I wouldn't say it all rides on him but you definitely don't want to marry yourself to the guy and put your blind faith in him as the Bears have done many times in the past with lesser QBs. I'm looking to the defense to make this a competitive team cause it's the part that looks most solid to me. On the offensive side, I'd go heavy Howard cause he does possess the inner warrior spirit. There are also some other weapons on offense that can make the boring QB look better than he is. It would be like the Foles effect, wherein you have a strong D that can keep any game competitive as well as a strong running game and receivers/TE who can get open and make big plays.
