With a blowout loss to one of the worst teams in the NFL, the Bears have hit a new new low, bottoming out a season of promise after an all-star off-season with a 4-and-5 record and 3 terrible losses in a row. The most important player on the team, the bonus baby quarterback, is frustrated and losing confidence. The coaching staff is hiding in the bunker avoiding crossfire from the media and fans. The General Manager is waking up to a city that has forgotten all about the management miracle he performed in wheeling and dealing his way to a historic #1 pick and a cadre of characters guaranteed to bring the Bears success. The Head Coach lost the team 2 weeks ago and is hanging on for dear life. On the franchise front, a moving mannequin in a two thousand dollar suit can't get a stadium deal moving at all.

After hiring and firing 3 separate administrations over the last decade, the Bears are out of answers. They are at a loss on how to compete with other NFL franchises on the field and off. They are completely confused, defeated, and have no clue how to get better.

The Bears need a leader to set policy, direction, goals. Obviously, that person isn't Matt Eberflus. It's not Kevin Warren either. And, despite his successes, it doesn't appear to be Pudge Poles either. Whoever that person is, he is not here.

This franchise is completely, undeniably lost.

Naw, they're not lost. They just need to look at the fundamentals. They have to just hold themselves and the guy next to them accountable. Just get those fundamentals down and the execution. Play complementary football. It isn't that tough.

They need to engage in the process to determine the process that they can then process

This is fucking hilarious. It’s definitely bad to completely mis-manage the game plan, have horrible play calls on both sides of the ball, and poor in game time management but….its Monday afternoon before a game with your largest rival and your own staff doesn’t know what the plan is? That’s a new level of complete incompetence as a GM and Head Coach.

the only constant in these poorly executed evaluations spanning nearly 20 years is the McCaskeys owning the Bears. isn't that weird?
Despite the hatred for the McCaskeys, I think it's finally time to admit that the family has tried since King George has taken over, yet their team is as fvvked up as a team can possibly be.

In other words, they are spending money, they are putting forth the effort, and they have eliminated the equivocators (e.g.: Sweaty Teddy) from the conversation. They want to win. They just absolutely, positively do not know how.

They are so bad they are not even remotely competitive in today's NFL. And they are at a loss on what to do next. The hubris of the organization that was personified by Phillips and fey Michael McCaskey is completely gone. They really don't know what to do.

It's why they've tried reaching out to people - Bill Polian, Uncle Ernie Accorsi, etc. - in recent years. But even that isn't helping. At this point, even they realize there is no turning this franchise around. There is something inbred and institutional within this franchise that is seriously impeding progress but nevertheless cannot be eradicated. She just keeps living! . . .

I really don't think they want to. How is easy. Hire a qualified GM, let him do it. It's that easy.

You don't let your clueless family dictate who can be HC, who can be drafted, how they are trained. Forget Papa Bear ever ran this team other than for historic mention.
Do that and we likely have the right balance of offense instantly. Both side of the ball start acting like every other team instead of like this shit show team has been since the 90s.

The only way our WRs can't get open and our defense leaves these huge cushions through this many GMs and HCs is the McCaskeys.
The only way you get people with some NFL experience like Poles or Nagy and get them in here to do the same old shit is the same old shit is having a say in how things are done.

Three points. At home. Against the Patriots.

Lost is an understatement.

There is a school of thought that says Eberflus and the coaching staff lost the locker room when Noah Brown caught the ball in the endzone. Since them we've seen them get pushed around by the Cardinals and lose in embarrassing fashion at home to talent-challenged Patriot squad. We've also seen Tyrique Stevenson go undisciplined for the bonehead play of the year and DJ Moore leaving the field before the play was over. Players are not shy about questioning the coaching staff or the effort in practice. And a quarterback some thought might be a generational talent is not being developed and may be in danger of being ruined.

And the geniuses at Halas Hall watch it all and do nothing, other than perhaps count receipts.

At some point, they'll start firing people. When is anybody's guess. And then they'll go out and find...the next Matt Nagy, or John Fox, or Mark Trestman....And we can do this all over again.

Duh Berz...

years ago i lived in Cincinnati around the Alstott/Dunn timeline, tampa came and kicked the shit out of the Bengals, who had swung and missed on multiple early first rounders, Kijana Carter, Akili Smith and so on....guys had signs Mike Brown must step down and the stadium had a chant, their sign was ripped away by security and they were sent packing, the Bengals had some niece of Mike Brown in charge of salary cap or something like that and she wasn't aware of some NFL policies, so hey....we have a little bit farther depth to descend to. Anyone else remember the jaguars a few years ago with their "chopping wood" log in the locker room w/ an axe and the kicker swung the axe and injured his leg and was out for the year? We're close to that kind of clown show but not quite there so just think positive, yeah it's horrendous and has been for a lifetime, but it's not as horrendous as it could possibly be.
