With a blowout loss to one of the worst teams in the NFL, the Bears have hit a new new low, bottoming out a season of promise after an all-star off-season with a 4-and-5 record and 3 terrible losses in a row. The most important player on the team, the bonus baby quarterback, is frustrated and losing confidence. The coaching staff is hiding in the bunker avoiding crossfire from the media and fans. The General Manager is waking up to a city that has forgotten all about the management miracle he performed in wheeling and dealing his way to a historic #1 pick and a cadre of characters guaranteed to bring the Bears success. The Head Coach lost the team 2 weeks ago and is hanging on for dear life. On the franchise front, a moving mannequin in a two thousand dollar suit can't get a stadium deal moving at all.
After hiring and firing 3 separate administrations over the last decade, the Bears are out of answers. They are at a loss on how to compete with other NFL franchises on the field and off. They are completely confused, defeated, and have no clue how to get better.
The Bears need a leader to set policy, direction, goals. Obviously, that person isn't Matt Eberflus. It's not Kevin Warren either. And, despite his successes, it doesn't appear to be Pudge Poles either. Whoever that person is, he is not here.
This franchise is completely, undeniably lost.
