Quality pick of a person with good, current experience.

I was expecting them to go with someone who has never called plays before, or hasn't updated their playcalling book since the 90s

I guess they wanted someone who has called plays before and is not in his 50s or 60s so he is able to adapt and adjust and not just stick in his ways. Don’t mind the hire. Would have preferred to take a risk with Kubiak but I get it. Waldron was in my top 3 so I ain’t tripping. At least it wasn’t fucking Frank Reich or Greg Roman.

Now let’s go on recruiting your positional coaches.

I’ll take a guy that has called plays for three years and was McVay’s pass game coordinator before that.

Imagine turning the ghost of Geno Smith into a somewhat viable QB…

Plus, working under McVay and Carroll, you know he understands the value of effectively running the football too.

I’m worried that the criticism of him has been his lack of running plays. Almost everything else looks good, but his lack of a consistent running game is worrisome.

His lead back rushed for just under 2,000 yards and 17 TDs over the last two seasons. Plus, he’s had injuries.

In 2023, Waldron's offense in Seattle averaged 21.4 points per game and 322.9 yards per game.

This is the best possible hire for them to make. He definitely helped revitalize Geno Smith's career and I would trust him to develop a rookie QB.
