They're giving up almost 35PPG during this losing streak. I dont think it matters if Fields comes back or not. Hard to imagine this team winning another game, especially at the rate their decent players are getting injured.

Here's to hoping they can keep #2 and trade it for a kings ransom and that Poles knows how to draft. Could be a regime defining trade.
Expecting any executive hired by a McCaskey drafting at an above average level hasn’t exactly produced sufficient returns. If Poles is that diamond in the rough we celebrate and dance the horah. Unless and untul that becomes the case, it is as remote as the clicker one uses for a television.

They might not have to. DET has the Rams 1st pick which looks pretty good rn… lol
Well, to go from 12 to 3 in a draft with 5 QBs that went in the first round, SF paid three first round picks and a third rounder.

In a draft where only two QBs may be worth the pick, I think Chicago could charge more. Now I will say that I personally think that staying put and getting a class-defining player is the right choice, but it would be hard to say no to three first round picks.

The only real choice the Texans will have is between a QB and Jalen Carter. He will be the first defender off the board. I'd bet big money on it.

If the bears end up with #2 overall then there should be a handful of teams bartering to move up.

To those of you thinking it’s going to land a haul because SF made a generationally bad trade … it just ain’t gonna happen. I can already see the threads ripping poles for ‘not getting enough’ for the 2nd overall pick because on their brane he should’ve got more.

I think the price goes up and down with the value of the third-best QB.

If, come draft day, there are only two QBs worth a first round pick, I think the market will go a lot closer to what SF paid for Lance than you would think. The better the third QB looks, the less Chicago can make on the trade.

Personally, I think getting Anderson Jr at 2 is the move. Hit DL hard in FA and then get the guy with the best motor. If Poles calls up Detroit to see if they want to move in front of Carolina, and targeting Myles Murphy with the pick they got from the Rams (with whatever else comes with the trade down) is not a bad consolation prize.

I mean it depends on how good these QBs are? Just because they are the only two 1st rounder doesn’t mean teams will give up a ton for them.

Sometimes it’s a bad year for QBs.

Yeah I don’t think these QB’s are going to fetch that giant haul. Both are flawed.

Maybe I’m being too pessimistic but I don’t think the top 10 of this draft is all that good in general.

That's true. At the same time, there is always the pressure of finding a QB that pushes teams to roll the dice.

If Lovie Smith gets another year in Houston, I wouldn't be shocked to find out that he wants to go Defense with the first overall pick

Gotta get Windy back in here this offseason. Going to be awesome if the Bears get the #2 pick. At this point, shut down Jackson, Mooney and Fields for the season.
Windy’s offseasons we’re hilariously awful and not grounded in reality at all. Please no.

It's an ingredient CCS needs IMO. One of many, hilarious actors upon this hilarious stage. Either way, off-season will be crazy.

Yes it will be crazy. It’s fun fan fiction but ultimately pointless.

While a trade down would be nice, this team needs help now, pushing back that compensation another year would suck in terms of fielding a 2023 team.
This is backwards thinking or at least shortsighted. The Bears are not winning a Super Bowl in 2023. If they can grab another future first round pick it makes all the sense in the world. That’s how you build and keep building.
