We get a 5 game preview of what he can do as a head coach. Caleb will still be his top priority, it’s a great chance to see how Brown can handle things. Why is Caleb all of a sudden going to fall apart, it’s not like he is leaving the team. There are many head coaches who also call plays, he will be fine. If he can’t handle it then you know and you move on.

I hate it for him. Sure, he got his golden parachute, and there are only 32 of these jobs. But yesterday was thanksgiving, man

But they should also fire George

My take. What I’m curious about is. Who was the major decision maker in bringing in Brown in the first place. If it was Warren then I think Brown stays as HC no matter what happens in the next 5 games. If it was Poles then I think Brown will have to absolutely prove himself in the next 5 games. AND, if Brown fails. Then I have a hunch Poles is gone as well.

Yeah, I would have preferred that they left Brown as the OC and keep him focused on the offense in that manner. He has been up in the booth as well, not on the sideline so that will also be a change.

I said it elsewhere, but sometimes they will make the ST coach the interim as they just have more bandwidth. But, I am guessing the front office just did not see Hightower as the type of person to put in front of the media as even the interim HC?

On one hand, Thomas Brown probably deserves it, and this gives them an opportunity to see what him as a HC looks like.

On the other hand, do you really want to mess with anything around Caleb Williams right now? Maybe it would've been better to let Brown focus on Williams and the offense? We'll see.

I'm curious what the defense will look like now with Eric Washington calling the shots, his defenses were pretty good in Buffalo, should be interesting!

Pretty sure brown will still be allowed to spend time with Caleb and focus on the offense considering he’s still the OC.

How much extra time does anyone think brown will be spending with the defense and ST? Probably minimal. He’s still going to run the offense. Plenty of HCs do it, there’s zero concern with me.

So Brown gets off scot free for the game ending screw up, not even a mention of him? Who took 20 seconds to send in a Play that Caleb is complaining about?
I mean the head coach is right there. He should have called timeout. After the sack especially. Brown was probably waiting for the head coach to call time out.

The season is over, it’s all about evaluation of the roster and Brown and developing Caleb. The one thing I believe for sure is the players will be motivated to do well for Brown, it might not add up to wins but it will give the team some energy

The decision to call or not call a timeout is Flus, and I agree entirely with holding that TO for after the play, to properly kick FG. That's NOT what went wrong. What did go wrong was:

1) according to Caleb it took 20 seconds for him to get the play in

2) Caleb decided to change the play call, he said because it took to long to get call

It doesn't matter, it is a distraction, Flus had to get fired. But I think a true post mortem of this might show the blame lies with others.

Think this is the right move he's good for interim coach but next season you have to bring in someone else.

I'm thinking Kingsbury since he's got the Caleb connection.

Everyone acting like something called Thomas Brown has suddenly turned into a quarterback whisperer. The Bears had yet another scoreless half yesterday, before Caleb eventually took the game upon himself.

I don't need to see anything Thomas Brown can do. If he is the next Bears' Head Coach, then it's just business as usual and we'll be back here in 2-to-3 long years.

So, who does Trace Armstrong want to be coach next? . . .

CALEB,CALEB,CALEB, loss, loss, loss it was the defense that made a win possible 1st half- 3fg's in 4 RZ trips, 1 TD in the 2nd half, basically a QB can win a game or two on his own, but it's not a recipe for major success over the course of a full season

Or the lions didn’t take the Bears seriously? This wasn’t their best game and Lions have a lot of injuries to overcome in next few weeks. It was also a short week. Shit happens
