Plenty of coaches call from the sideline. You can’t be a HC from the booth so if we see some kind of weird fall off in play calling we will know for sure his ceiling is OC.

That’s a win. What we don’t want is to not know out of fear and then Brown goes on to be Tomlin 2.0 but even better because he calls offense.

Curious why your comparison keeps being Tomlin?

It’s not just because they are black, Lovie is black and I’d never compare him to Tomlin. It’s the way they both carry themselves while speaking, kids would call it aura lol.

Now it’s unfair to Brown as Tomlin has proven to be one of the greatest coaches of all time, but when he was hired he was just a random candidate as a DC from Minnesota. In fact I believe he was one of the first Rooney rule interviews and he blew them away.

Imagine...a bad team with a horrible coach came C-hair close to beating the almighty Lions who cant play outdoors.

What will they do when they have to come to icy Soldier Field or play the 49ers outside?

I see it too.

Watch the press conferences.

It's the way he talks, his presence.

Reminds me of Tomlin.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Nebraska Cornhuskers
  2. Villanova Wildcats
My take. What I’m curious about is. Who was the major decision maker in bringing in Brown in the first place. If it was Warren then I think Brown stays as HC no matter what happens in the next 5 games. If it was Poles then I think Brown will have to absolutely prove himself in the next 5 games. AND, if Brown fails. Then I have a hunch Poles is gone as well.
What do you mean bring him in?

He's been with the team the whole season.

We get a 5 game preview of what he can do as a head coach. Caleb will still be his top priority, it’s a great chance to see how Brown can handle things. Why is Caleb all of a sudden going to fall apart, it’s not like he is leaving the team. There are many head coaches who also call plays, he will be fine. If he can’t handle it then you know and you move on.
How many intern coaches have been able to successfully stick and stay as a HC for the team they took over, or for another franchise? I'm not saying it hasn't happened but I am saying that outside of Pierce being a bust HC option in Vegas, I can't remember off head an intern succeeding long term as a HC.

This team is almost bound to play significantly better and will probably win most, if not all of their remaining games because the players all wanted the HC fired and will rally behind the new guy.

Then the players will tout for the Bears to stay with Brown. Then the sports media morons will all tout for the Bears to stay with Brown, the fans will follow, & the Bears will make the same mistake that Vegas made with Pierce and well all be sitting here this time next year with a team at or below .500.

I get it when smaller markets make the choice to roll with the inspiring intern. I don't get it when a big market like Chicago makes the same small market decisions.

If the Bears are going to go with a wild card hire at HC then that wild card HC hire better be coming from his own offense that averages close to 30 points per game for for at least 2 seasons aka Ben Johnson.

The Bears should follow Denvers playbook and trade for Kyle Shanahan. There is nothing in this draft or the next that will help this team and its QB
like a HC hire like Kyle Shanahan. Not a LT. Not a DE. Not a DT. Not a CENTER. Nothing

Caleb Williams and Kyle Shanahan will be a younger version of Reid/Mahomes. Act like a big market franchise and go get the best.

I hope fans remember that every year that this franchise dicks off with a half assed HC hire is another season closer to the end of Williams's rookie deal

Everyone would want Shanahan, including San Fran. One poor, injury riddled season is not going to get him fired.

At least we get to see Brown in action before a decision is made, and if he wins most if not all of the remaining games on this schedule like you said he deserves the job.

So Brown gets off scot free for the game ending screw up, not even a mention of him? Who took 20 seconds to send in a Play that Caleb is complaining about?
He's from the mcvay tree.....like waldron.....it can't be him.

Plus....he has previous OC experience.......with Carolina last year; you know the team who got us 1.1.

What could go wrong with an interim guy the players love (see Antonio Pierce)

Thomas Brown was the only choice. Nobody else on the staff has HC potential. Might as well see what he can do.
That's how bad a clown show this place is

The makeover HC hired such a shitty staff the only modicum of competency for 30 days of interim hc was the guy he passed over for OC only to have the gm hire as "passing game coordinator"

Blow them all out of here come Jan 5
