My favorite teams

  1. Chicago Bulls
  2. Utah Jazz
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Utah Utes
Trade Justin ?. Nice finding an NFC North coach for that little tidbit.

The rankings were put together by 5 executives and 5 coaches.

Denver Broncos
Minnesota Vikings
Las Vegas Raiders
Chicago Bears
Miami Dolphins
NY Giants
Jacksonville Jaguars
Houston Texans

“The Bears changed their structure so the next GM will report directly to ownership instead of through team president Ted Phillips, but one exec suggested there are zero guarantees the situation would function that way practically. Another called Chicago’s ownership “low-end neutral” while noting that the Bears “are just kind of there” and distanced from their tradition.

“From a roster construction standpoint, Chicago is a very desirable location if you ask me, including the fact that you could possibly trade (Justin) Fields,” said a coach who analyzed the Bears’ roster but did not vote in this poll.”

Denver needs a QB. If not in FA they better hope they can draft one in the future. They are in the too good of a team to draft early category.

Raiders should be #1 unless Giants / Broncos trade for Wilson and build around that. Those are IFs though.

Trade Justin? ?

Broncos, Minny & Raiders all are solid teams with solid rosters so I get why they are above the Bears.

But if I'm a coach and I had my pick, Minny to me already has hit their ceiling and Raiders are not going anywhere with Carr (along with being in Vegas, which has it's own challenges).

Broncos have a lot of potential, you just gotta hope they have a legit shot at Rogers.....if not, then what can you expect of them

Bears are a mess, but they're always going to be a top spot and if Fields develops into a good QB, it'd would be a fairly quick turnaround. They're also kind of that asshole that every girl thinks she can mold into husband material.

Yeah, I'm pretty confident a GM that is desirable and also wants this job won't be interested in trading Fields.Screenshot_20220117-082716_The Athletic.jpg

If the next coach believes in Fields, we are automatically the best location. Broncos don't have that QB, Minny won't be a thing while cousins is still there. Raiders? Don't think the QB is the issue there.

Really it all depends. If you want a team that is already almost fully formed then it is the Raiders.

If you want a team you can build in your own image but already has some stabdout pieces like Fields, Quan, Mack, Quinn, Johnson and Moonry then it is the Bears.

Pretty much you can turn over that whole roster in 2 years if you wanted to so greater flexibility.

A week ago people were posting about unnamed sources calling it the best destination. Now its 4th.

Fact is that everyone wants to coach Kindle Vildor, James Daniels and Trevis Gipson.

Bears #1

All comes down to what they think of Fields.

Carr and Cousins are not taking you anywhere special so to really build anything you'll need to replace them. By that time your roster has turned over.

Every GM is gonna go to the place that has the young budding QB to build around.

Fields will get 2 years to show he's the guy. If he's not, they are probably bad enough that you are picking high enough to try again. BONUS!!!!!

No. It's if they think it's feasible to become a contender in a few years. The cap situation with the bloated contracts and aging stars on defense plus the lack of draft picks matter too.

Lack of draft picks is a one year thing. I don't think too many GMs are going to be put off by that.

Having a talented QB for four more years on a rookie deal is a great incentive.

Bears have lots of money pushed from extensions, but almost every team does. No one plans for the cap to decrease by $20mil over one year and the NFL is a long term planning business. Most teams have cap issues similar to the Bears.

I think the biggest issues are the aging stars on defense and the amount of holes. By the time your offense is ready to go where are Mack and Quinn going to be? You absolutely need two CBs, at least one S, one ILB, at least one impact IDL, C, and several WRs and you really have very little depth.

And the QB is a key piece of that equation lol.

Every team faces a cap situation with bloated contracts and aging stars. Rosters are turned over every year. Bears aren't in a great situation or terrible one, they're all workable problems a decent GM can fix.

The one thing that is usually constant with successful teams is a really good QB.

So yes, it really does boil down to what they think of Fields on the player personnel side.

Notice how they didn't include the coach who said something positive about the Bears opening in their voting poll.

That right there should tell you about the integrity of that poll. They are intentionally fucking with it in order to pander to the meatball side of Bears fans who want to shit on the Bears.

These writers know appealing to the meatballs is what sells.

The idea of reporting to George (with Teddy mouth breathing in the background) is enough to scare a lot of candidates away.

Exactly. Not something you can likely flip quickly - toxic.
