One would think you need to actually pass the ball to develop a QB.
Of course there are going to be growing pains, but lack of reps is not the answer.
BINGO!

I am very willing to admit that’s a possibility.Maybe it's a sign the coaching staff has zero confidence in fields.
11 total pass attempts? lol
Mooney 2 catches for 4 yards on the year? lol x2!
He also needs to be healthy. Again. 3 sacks in extremely limited action. If he threw it 30 times and had 8 sacks y’all would be bitching about that too.One would think you need to actually pass the ball to develop a QB.

So you think Getsy called a good game?Last year everyone wanted Nagy to run the ball and help his QB out. Now we want him to chuck it 30 times a game? I’m honestly confused. They had 3 sacks already last night. Do we want to see 8-9 a game? Maybe Getsy is protecting him for a few games so he doesn’t die.
Hahaha. I was going to start a silver lining thread with that.Remember those days when people were afraid Getsy would be hired away as a head coach after one year?
I’m simply looking for reasons for what happened. So you think Getsy called a good game?
I know the WRs suck. I know the OL sucks. And I can even admit that Fields hasn't proven himself as a pocket passer. But what the **** was Getsy doing tonight? You're just not going to win an NFL game doing that.
Then dial up more quick hitters that if they aren’t there he can throw it away without taking hits. He has to be given an opportunity to grow.He also needs to be healthy. Again. 3 sacks in extremely limited action. If he threw it 30 times and had 8 sacks y’all would be bitching about that too.

Take your head our of your own ass. We're 1-1 so far against maybe the two best teams in the NFC. All of you would accept the outcome prior to the season starting.I took a bunch of shit for saying Poles is making a mistake by not adding/drafting talent on offense, mainly because it’s going to be difficult to properly evaluate Fields in a year where you will likely end up with a top 5 pick and have a lot of good qb prospects coming out.
It looks like more people are starting to realize what I was saying months ago may actually have merit.
You also need to accept that this isn’t Madden and he may not be able to just “dial up more quick hitters” because Fields may not be able to actually do that. He has a thousand times more insight into what Fields can and cannot do at this time than we do.Then dial up more quick hitters that if they aren’t there he can throw it away without taking hits. Obviously be responsible with his health, but this is football. You can’t treat him with kids gloves the whole season and expect any type of growth.
Probably a combination of poor play calling, not trusting the OL, not trusting the WR and/or WRs not getting open, and Fields.I’m simply looking for reasons for what happened.
I think if he called a pass happy game there would be just as many people bitching about him not running the ball.

My thing is - the Bears have to give Fields the ability to go thru some of these growing pains. If they think they are 'protecting' him by limiting the amount he throws then what are we even doing?
How do you get better at something? You get reps. Fields needs reps.
Ppl are desperately flailing to give Fields benefit of the doubt.Last year everyone wanted Nagy to run the ball and help his QB out. Now we want him to chuck it 30 times a game? I’m honestly confused. They had 3 sacks already last night. Do we want to see 8-9 a game? Maybe Getsy is protecting him for a few games so he doesn’t die.
If Fields cannot throw short passes then we really do need to go back to the drawing board. You also need to accept that this isn’t Madden and he may not be able to just “dial up more quick hitters” because Fields may not be able to actually do that. He has a thousand times more insight into what Fields can and cannot do at this time than we do.
It’s also his second game as OC. If we’re supposed to be patient with Fields then people need to apply that to the new OC too.
Am I wrong that people were losing there minds last year about running the ball and protecting Fields? Like that’s what everyone wanted right? (Everyone not being 100% of course… but most)Ppl are desperately flailing to give Fields benefit of the doubt.
