My favorite teams
  1. New York Mets
  1. New York Knicks
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. New York Rangers
  1. Syracuse Orange
No my argument is none of us knows what would have happened. Mike Davis could have disappointed. Cohen could get banged up. Howard could look rejuvenated. Just assuming he would suck is stupid. It is a new year.

I mean 90% of the posts on this board are people assuming things.

So what do you think Pace will do from here about the RB position? I'm thinking Mizzell will get cut, Nall will be back on the PS and he's gonna sign a free agent (S.Ware, TJ Yeldon, TY Montgomery) and draft a RB and probably grab one or two in UDFA to bring in a get a good look at. Wonder if they'd take a chance on a guy like J.Ajayi on a cheap one year deal and maybe fill it with some incentives? When healthy he's a good 3 down all around RB but just can't make it through a full season healthy.

Think they are done with Free Agents. Mike Davis is it.

My guess is they trade up to the 2nd to take montgomery/harris/henderson, or stand pat in the 3rd and try to get one of those or mike weber, miles sanders.

Howard had 250 carries last year. Mike Davis will get around 120 or so, he had 112 last year. We just need one more back not two.

Draft a RB and give him 120-150 carries and you're good. Running back by committee.

The only way the Bears can get better because of this trade is if that pick next year is a good football player. We could have kept Howard on this roster and added a back in the draft, or even traded him at the draft. We may not suffer because of this trade, but we won't win it just because Howard is no longer here.

That isn't necessarily true. Not that I am necessarily on board with this sentiment, but if the Bears get better production if Cohen and Davis get more looks and produce better than Howard, then yes it is the Bears getting better.

Don't understand how thats hard to understand for so many. He had 250 carries, those will be spread amongst Cohen(Who was better last year), Mike Davis(Who was better last year) and a rookie.

So yea, we just improved by taking him off the team because we will allow more productive players to get his carries.

I gotta hand it to msadows...he will not tolerate Jordan Howard being on this team. That is some conviction right there...lol.

I've never seen a player's value get argued like that that wasn't a quarterback.

So obviously you weren't here when there were endless threads about Matt Forte, Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery or Cameron Meredith. Oh, or Matt Slausen. That one was fun.

Not a good thing but then Nagy never did know how to operate a running game or use Jordan Properly. Next year is lining up to be a big letdown...get ready folks, the old Bears are coming back!

It is still a stretch to assume Davis can do it all year long. He was good in spots but they would ask much more out of him. The Bears being better in the backfield isn't a given.

Mike Davis isn't going to get 270 touches like Howard did. He's brought in to do the same exact thing he did in Seattle.(130 touches or so). The real question is who they get in the draft to take the other 130-150 touches.

I ain't saying howard is horrible. He's an okay back and has a place, just not on this team on a contract year. He was horrible in the scheme Nagy wants to run, its doing both sides a disservice to march him out again in 2019 on the Bears.

Yeah, and you said your piece. Now every third comment since page one is you saying the same thing over and over. Let some others give their opinion. Nobody wants to read the same thing over and over.

But did you know that he had the 6th most carries and average THREE POINT SEVEN YARDS PER CARRY.

Davis had more than 100 rushes only once in his career....last year 112....that would be asking more than he's done before and certainly consistently.
