Jesus, this line is bad... I remember reading an article about how Jordan Howard's struggles were more on the OL than him, earlier in the year. And now, it appears to be even worse.

Hiestand isn't going to turn this OLine into a dominant unit in just 12weeks of games. Unrealistic expectations here.

People complain about Nagy not running the ball more and now you see why he doesn’t.

What is the excuse for passing more? They are shitty at pass blocking too.

With the supposed best offensive line coach, this group sure doesn't have any idea how to pass off responsibilities. At times, the players say he is yours and no one blocks a player. At times, players stay on a man, even though there are other players to block that man and let a defender rush right by them and then quite often, the players are losing one-on-one battles.

Maybe the snap count became too obvious because the defenders seemed to be timing a shift right at the snap of the ball which makes it near impossible to block them because they already have a momentum advantage over the offensive linemen.

Whatever it is, it is pathetic.

What I hope can happen is that Shaheen can play more and matchup 1 on 1 against some OLBs.

That would allow the Bears to more consistently double team inside.

I do not know whether Shaheen can line up with Dante Fowler, but it is worth checking.

I think we'll get a lot of that against the Rams.

What worries me is that Suh and Donald are much better than the Giants D-Line... Is there something we can do to reduce the impact?

I think we will need to double Donald the entire game unless it is a play that is a quick throw or the play is going away from him. Suh is good, but Donald is the impact player.

Why is there any expectation for coward to come in and replace massie? I just don’t see it happening. As much as I’d love to upgrade massie I don’t see a guy transitioning from defense to offense to step in and provide better play than any veteran RT. It’s a pipe dream.

This was by far the worst game of the season for

Leno
Daniels
Wirzmann

Daniels and Witzmann were painful to watch.

On ESPN 1000 they were talking about how the Bears are just not good OG to OG right now and I have to agree.
Back to Kush?

I know Witzmann came in and played a little better at pass protection a game or two, but maybe that was just a happenstance good matchup for him? At least Kush wasn't being pushed around, even if his passprotect wasn't nuanced.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Michigan Wolverines
  2. Purdue Boilermakers
Bears definitely have to replace long this off-season. His constant injuries have left them in a continual bad spot regarding their ol. Massie has to go as well. Anytime long misses, we get to see how massie is just absolutely terrible.
