That was the MO with Trestman in though. The man gets QB's to produce. Outside of this year with the dumbed down dink and dunk screen approach under Gase those two years were better than Cutler ever produced(He also had more weapons though than at any point). At least in +/- terms.
I'd argue that he was better under Trestman were better than with Gase because we actually tried stretching the ball. It's like Gase went conservative which was cool, but also makes Jay Cutler moot since his whole deal is stretching the field vertically. I'm sure injuries played a part in the game plans, but Cutler had absolute shit accuracy on his deep ball at times this year so there's that as well.
