Trubisky might not even be qb 1 when the season starts maybe you should of held off the dumb ass thread until September
I think Mitch will be there because he's a bottom 7 - 5 NFL starter. I don't see a rookie taking his job this year. Sports Illustrated is saying this is a weak QB draft class.

This shouldn't be a story. Fields should make the jump and remove all doubt - but this is the Bears we are talking about. What could go wrong? ?

Wasn’t trubisky the 35th ranked starter in his second year? Lol I can’t see this guy succeeding

It's comical now...but I remember a few posters defending this in 2018, good sir. ?

I'm asking a question. Sheesh. Notice the question marks.

So if Claypool could be Chicago's #1 or #2, I'd have to assume he's better than Mooney in your mind.
The Steelers offense is better at every position or close too. RB WR TE O-line.

That should cover it.

No guarantee mitch even starts

If they can get Mayfield, he'll be on the bench ?

Trubisky will definitely be benched for a rookie at some point. And he doesn’t even need to necessarily play terrible. They will want to see the rookie since mitch won’t be playing at a level to not want to see the rookie.

Assuming they draft a qb of course and mitch starts the season…

Tldr: Fields

Oh no.

To be honest, I think Fields ends up basically having a 2nd rookie season. Improvement, but nothing crazy. I have very little faith that Nagy taught ANYONE anything. Football people mention that great coaches are teachers. Nagy was not a teacher. He didn't know what he was fucking doing. If anything, he was teaching motherfuckers bad habits. ?

Both Justin and Mitch have better numbers. Justin better passing numbers and running numbers. Steelers win one more game than Bears in '22. After that, Justin way better in '23 into the conference championship.

Trubisky has more experience, and Pittsburgh perhaps will surround him with more talent.

But it will still be Fields, because Mitch is still Mitch.

I care if Fields makes a jump and looks like a true franchise QB in the making. I couldn’t care less if Trubisky has better stats or not…

Actually a pretty good post. Mitch is a career 87 QBR, and you would think with some decent players around him and a little more coaching that he got in Buffalo he may be able to push a 90 QBR this season in Pitt.

Conversely, without many weapons being added in Chicago, Fields has his work cut out for him.

I unfortunately think Trubisky ends the season around a 91-92 QBR and edges out Fields by a point or two. Fields is going to deal with a new system, likely some mechanical changes in his release, some uncertainty on the OL and lack of a true #1 receiver.

Frankly, it's all going to come down to who builds the better run-blocking offensive line.

I have a really hard time thinking Tomlin will go in to a season without a better plan than mitch.
They might draft a first-round QB but this crop doesn't seem to be the type you just put in from day 1 and call it a day. Besides, Trubisky now has a year of Nagy-rehab under his belt and joined one of the best overall franchises in professional sports. He's set up to suceed, and I wouldn't be surprised if he shows up as a capable starting quarterback.

I am pulling for Trubisky to play well. I think he has it in him to be solid, if unspectacular.

I think Fields has it in him to be spectacular. Fields' ceiling is pretty high.

For this year, it really depends on what the tenor of the offense will be. I don't think the Bears, right now, have the personnel for Fields to put up 4k yards.
